Great place for the kids. People practice safe distancing.

The nearest beach of Thunder Bay, just beyond the Chippawa park a little. The sand is not really white but acceptable. Many picnic tables on the beach. There is also a rather wide play ground with a swing set. Two convenient restrooms. Recently there’s limit of 250 people on beach at a time. There’s also a barrier for the safe swimming area. Larger parking lot suits for 40-50 cars.

Nice little beach. Was surprised to find out that Thunder Bay has live guards there 4 days a week till 6pm. Made me feel quite safe too

The beach can get pretty crowded on those blistering hot days when everyone needs to cool down with a swim.I enjoyed taking a stroll around the area in the evening when the masses are gone home. The beach is close to Chippewa Park. If the kids are tired of swimming, they can keep the fun going at the playground that is a hop skip and a jump away.

Great view of the sleeping giant. This is a great relaxation spot. The water is usually pretty cold all year round so that’s why it doesn’t get the five stars but this is a very nice place to get away from it all. It’s about 25 minutes away from the city centre so it’s easily accessible. There are usually at least two life guards on duty and there’s lots of space for parking.

Roads near the beach had a lot of potholes. Mosquitoes were bad in June.

Water was way too cold when we went but I figured it was too early to swim. Beach was pretty nice, soft sand but lots of drift wood chunks. Only three benches were set up but there was a few more at the back of the field that just need to be moved.Overall, would recommend
