International House of Tea

After a couple of unsuccessful attempts to visit I called ahead to make confirm they were open (April 8/2023). After arriving just after 2pm I looked around a bit, grabbed a bag of tea and and proceeded to wait. The person behind the counter (overheard the name *i'll leave out*) did not acklowledge me or make eye contact for the whole 15 minutes I stood in the practically empty store. There was one person having tea, and another older woman making a purchase. There was a break in their conversation when the woman's cell phone rang but (*name) still did not acknowledge my presence nor did he mention that they'd be just a moment.This person was offered a decent discount and samples to take home and I was left there holding my bag and then walking out. Maybe they were a long time regular and I can't take that away from a loyal customer, but being my first time there I was not impressed; especially after hearing about providing good customer services and tips.I gave 2 stars because of the assortment of teas that I wish I could have tried but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

Clean premises, excellent service, friendly staff and a huge selection of tea, herbs, spices and tea paraphernalia! I love sitting down for tea and scones with friends and the at table service is definitely a great touch! Plus they will work with you to make a custom blend for your business or special occasion! A Thunder Bay must visit! <3

Amazing customer service, had a very nice chat with the cashier, I personally don’t like tea very much so she showed me through the menu and showed me their fruit juice types that help hydrate and taste amazing! 110% reccomend this place for any of your tea needs, amazingly large menu and cheap prices! Even giving me a sample of their new christmas tea with my purchase :) very happy with their service.

If you're a tea lover, this tea shop is amazing. The moment you walk in the door, the aroma of teas fill the senses. I bought a bag of Thunder Bay tea, and a box of the decaf samplers. Great tea!

A great place to sit down and enjoy a pot of tea and a delicious homemade butter scone with preserves and clotted cream. Awesome atmosphere and the absolute best quality tea! It is a really wonderful experience to go in, smell, and shop. Online or phone ordering is also very simple and efficient, if you know what you're looking for.

What a fantastic tea shop! They have a huge selection of teas to purchase in bulk in addition to a tea room for hot prepared tea and scones. I enjoyed a unique hot honey Chai butter tea in addition to purchasing several loose leaf teas. If you know you are heading here, bring your own container to save some money. The staff member who helped us (Samantha) was so friendly, personable, and knowledgeable! If we lived in the area, I would be stopping by frequently for both hot tea and to pick up my loose leaf tea for home.

As the name says they have a wide variety of teas.... I'm amazed by seeing their collection. Good customer service & if you want to explore different teas, just head to Algoma. Here it is....♥️

Nice tea shop that is a local establishment, and the teas are a good blend. The pricing is a little on the higher end but so is the quality.

I frequent IHoT often. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive. The shop has a welcoming energy and aesthetically enjoyable. Tea Dragon & owner Terri Lynn has even created a custom blend for me at my request and also as gifts for special events such as bridal showers and weddings. The quality of product is supreme. I absolutely love the handmade sleeping giant" quilted tea cozies. When we have out of town visitors or when I go out of town ... a cozy and IHot's special blend of Thunder Bay Tea (3 to choose from) is my go to gift.
