US Customs and Border Protection - Preclearance Administration Office

Shout out to US Border Officer, Mr. Stone, who was nice and had an smile on his 'eyes' (wearing mask for Covid19). Our TN process (my wife and I) went smoothly without any hiccups. We happily got our TN visas.

Arrived in Calgary sat july 16 .bags checked thru to Victoria on flight 227. I arrived in Victoria after going thru customs with my dog in Calgary . My bags i have been told are still in customs in calgary 6 days later. Website just says looking for my bags as of 6 days later.

Customs closed at 5pm yesterday, July 9th. As they had closed for the day, passengers on 5 connecting flights to US cities could not continue their journeys given their flights were delayed by up to 1hr. Everyone had to be housed overnight. This is ridiculous. Are US customs working to rule?Are they working banking hours? It defies logic to close at 5 pm on a Saturday. Please be aware- the web says they close at 8pm. Not the case.

Called for information regarding traveling to the US for a 24 hour trip. Guy that picks up the phone is stern, curt, and dismissive. Gave me the wrong information as well. I was told I needed a negative PCR test to get into the US. Surprise! A friend that left this morning only needed the $40 Antigen test. Not the $150 PCR.Would give zero stars if I could. This is part of the job and if you aren't willing to do ALL OF THE JOB, you shouldn't be allowed to have it in the first place. In a world full of misinformation, the government employees should at least be in the loop. Pathetic.

Ultimately we made it to our destination but the employees could have tried to be more kind. Our situation is currently niche and twice I asked which of my documents they wanted; the first guy I asked at the entry desk looked me in the looked me in the eye and ignored my words, and waived his buddy over to chat, then he pointed me in the direction of someone else to help. I asked the 2nd person which documents he wanted to see and he saw my passport in hand and motioned me to give those, then made us wait only to conclude that I should have given him a different document, a document which I had, if he bothered to respond in the first place. Maybe they were overdue for a lunch break or something…

Officer was pretty fast and quick in service. We got delayed at our check in and getting late for boarding. Officer was very understanding. Five stars for the service.

Professional, Polite but to the point CBP officers. They make America look good. Great work

I've had great experiences with CBP in Calgary! They make it a quick and easy process. I'd bet the longest it's taken me from the start of the lineup to the Duty Free is 5 minutes. Extremely professional guards, they make America look great!

Hostile and rude, drunk on power. Some agents were okay but a couple of the ones I had the misfortune of dealing with were downright rude and getting personal/emotional (red faced and accusing me of lying and demanding proof against their empty accusations- giving me a 10 minute time out" - I'm a grown 35 year old man for god's sake). Never will I ever go through this border crossing again."

Rude employees issuing vague and incoherent threats to travelers. One man sounded hungover or under the influence of something. Very alarming these folks are in charge of border protection and have any authority.
