The worst University experience … strikes, bad management and everything else. There are so much better schools. Don’t waste your money here.

This is one of the best engineering college at York University and Canada. The engineering structure is marvellous. The glass structure and colours are very nice. The design of the building itself is skyrocketing. Love to come here at York University and will cherish the memories made here.

I'm a CS Student at Lassonde who transferred from Western when I changed major as I liked the new Lassonde vision for the school. It's a great program but they need to work on class availability and their front end staff need to improve their customer service skills. Emails are ignored for weeks and the voicemail is always full. They can also be pretty rude if you go in person as well depending on what time you go. It sounds like they just need more people for the workload so they aren't as stressed out all the time.

Very clean building all around.Good natural light on ground floor, and still some light in the basement, depending on where you are.Incredibly calming to be in here; the lecture halls are grand, but the sound is still great. It can be both well lit and nicely dimmed (for watching videos). Many ways to get into every lecture hall I've been in; 3 ways in and out of the rooms I've had lectures in, greatly decreasing my stress walking into a room. The spacing between the rows would have been nice if they were just a bit further from one another; it can be kind of tight. The seating at the front of the room is great, however; very roomy and such. It is not so close to the wall that you hurt your neck looking up at the notes, but close enough that I, a person with vision problems, can make out some words on the blackboard.Good amount of benches in front of lecture rooms, with many power outlets for charging your devices. The benches themselves are a bit too far from the wall to lean on comfortably. Very peaceful to sit here on my off-time.The restrooms are okay, at least in the basement. Usually quite clean, and well lit. Unfortunately, if you are looking to use your phone or listen to the radio while in the stall, it does not seem possible to do so in the basement's restroom.Unfortunately, there are not any stores I'd buy from here; it would be great to have a Tim Hortons on the ground floor here. I have had 3 hour lectures here and would have liked to buy a coffee during a break.

Fantastic school for computer science and engineering. New Bergeron building has an amazing design and is first class all around. Expect Lassonde to continue to expand and get more recognition as it deserves.

I am a York University Alumni, and I just graduated recently in October 2022 with a degree in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (EECS) at the Lassonde School of Engineering. Despite some of the difficult challenges that I faced as a student here, which includes the 2018 York University Strike, and the COVID 19 Pandemic, I preserved, and was still able to graduate on time, and have an overall great experience here at York University. Most of my course instructors, professors, and TAs that I have interacted with for the past four years as an undergraduate student were very approachable, hard working, and were willing to help me with any problems that I may have had as a student in any of my courses for the semester, which helped me succeed in the Computer Science program here at Lassonde. As many Lassonde students and graduates know, Computer Science is a very rigorous major with a heavy workload that requires a lot of time dedicated to studying for many assessments throughout the semester, so it is great to know that there are plenty of resources readily available for the student to use if they want to increase their chances of succeeding overall. The customer service of the administrative staff that I have interacted with here at the York University's Registrar's Office, the Lassonde School of Engineering, and the Department of Mathematics and Statistics for the past four years have been excellent for helping me solve many problems quickly that I have encountered as a student, which included inquiries about OSAP, inquiries about course enrollment and de-enrollment, inquiries about financial assistance through Scholarships, Awards, and Bursaries, inquiries about degree conferral, inquiries about my application to graduate, inquiries related to my parking account, inquiries related to Academic Honesty with online courses during the COVID 19 Pandemic, and many more problems that were able to be addressed almost immediately with no issues whatsoever thanks to the knowledge, hard work, and expertise of the administrative staff here at these departments mentioned.I only visited the Keele Campus for all of my classes here at York University, and I have to say that this campus does resemble like a small town or city like many other reviewers suggested here on Google Reviews because there are plenty of restaurants for students to eat from before, in between, or after classes both inside and outside of York Lanes, and there are many study areas to choose from the several buildings here on the campus. My personal favorite study areas were in the basement level of the Victor Philip Dahdaleh Building, seating areas at the Accolade East and Accolade West buildings, the Bergeron Centre, the Ross Building, Curtis Lecture Halls, Vari Hall, and the Lassonde School of Engineering Computer Labs that are in the William Small Centre Building, which is a very quiet study space and environment like the Scott Library that is excellent to get lots of work done in crunch time ahead of fast approaching deadlines.I would highly recommend the indoor parking here at the York Lanes Parking Garage, and the Student Services Parking Garage at the Registrar's Office because they are safe, economical, and not to mention that it is great shelter for the winter if you are looking to avoid brushing snow off of your vehicle. The York University Bookstore has great customer service to place your diploma inside your purchased frame post graduation, and they have a wide selection of textbooks and study materials to choose from to try to make these products as affordable as possible for all students who want to succeed in their courses.Overall, to conclude my review, I would highly recommend this university to any friends and/or family if they are looking for a university that will help them prepare for a future career in their industry with the skills and knowledge that they need to succeed in the real world while also giving them an excellent reputation to stand behind them to increase their job prospects overall.

Professor Smith made me wear a hazmat mask to class, even though I wasn’t handling hazardous materials.Would give zero stars if I could. Save your money and go anywhere else but York U.
