I have trained myself in kickboxing and was competing about 16 years ago. I’ve always missed it and really wanted my 3 kids to experience the benefits of martial arts. I wasn’t sure at first about “Modern Martial Arts” since it wasn’t my background. I emailed Coach Fred and scheduled some kids classes to try and even tried the adult class for myself. I joined and so did my 3 kids! He is amazing with children! I personally am getting the best workout of my life, but at my own pace meeting my ability level!! My kids are all smiling and laughing and want to be there every day! When you walk in you immediately feel like part of the family. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing the smiles on my children's faces training with the amazing Fred Stonehouse at Surge MMA. I travel across the city through rush hour traffic from Stittsville to bring my kids to this gym. It is always worth it. I should also mention I love training there too.
