The best croissants/pastries/everything , and amazing bread. We stop here whenever we’re in Winnipeg. Love the mushroom croissant, the lemon cremeux croissant and pretty much any of the desserts. Everything is super fresh

Lovely staff, very helpful and patient service especially when explaining the pastries to me. There are a lot of options from sweet and savoury to vegan.

Gâto has been a favorite for a couple years now, since the markets, we also enjoyed the “Bread and Bake Basket” deliveries a lot and basically everything they have been offering since. We were hoping things would turn into an actual store and we are so glad this dream came true. The vegan options which first attracted us are not only amazing but so flavorful that the competition with the non vegan menu is always tough as they are both equally delicious. The sourdough croissants are so tasty, with endless layers and a crisp crust, you can easily judge a bakery by their croissant and once you try Gâto’s you know you will find so much more there. The menu is never boring with a rotation of delightful creations of many flavors, local and international. I am constantly impressed with the creativity and the art as it’s always hard to choose between taking a picture or eating first…This year we, customers, are blessed to have a weekly special croissant and so you get to try a new decadent treat with an already delicious croissant foundation, it’s a surprise every week like for exemple, a Pina Colada croissant or this week was a dreamy Strawberry Green Tea croissant (not kiwi). The bread is also some of the best I had in my life, the kids love the sandwich bread, there is also a special kind of bread every week. The focus on local sourcing, the sustainable direction chosen by the shop, the overall vibe from all the staff are also reasons why we keep coming back, on top of some of the best vegan and non-vegan food we ever had!The family in Paris still talks about it ;-)PS : we even visited a house recently that mentioned the bakery as one of the perks of the neighbourhood, being able to walk to Gâto would definitely be a treat of its own!

I went to Gato Bakeshop on a Saturday morning. The shop is clean with a nice layout and style. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They have a great selection of baked goods, and I got a couple of items as well as a loaf of bread. The custard-filled croissants were out of this world and definitely in the top 10 baked goods I've had in my life. The bread was fragrant and delicious as well.Definitely check this place out if you get the chance. I will be back for sure! Make sure to check their social media to see what weekly flavours they have, and get them while you can!

They keep improving the quality of their products. It’s actually really cool to see that. We got a cake recently and it’s very good!

Wide selection of croissants: mushroom and cheese, almond, pan au chocolait. Very flaky croissants. The bakeshop offers vegan options. There is also coffee and tea so we could enjoy the croissants in the limited seats.

We tried this bakery during our stop in Winnipeg. The vanilla sprinkle cronut was absolutely greasy and inedible. I gave it 3 stars because the chocolate croissant was great, and the strawberry rhubarb apple crumble Danish was decent. I don't doubt it's a wonderful bakery from the high google rating but my experience here was just okay.

Really happy to have this bakery on this end of the city. Love that they switch up some of the items on their menu. My absolute fave items are definitely the croissants. The potato, mushroom, almond and plain croissants are delicious !!(croissant picture: potato, mushroom and pistachio+raspberry

It's basically a takeout place. The vegan croissants are amazing!! The desserts were nice for the price. I personally did not like the macaroons.

A delightful find as we were driving through Winnipeg. I enjoyed the savoury pastries the most. Banana-peanut butter-chocolate chip pastry was very good and not too sweet. Cronuts were too sweet for me. The vegan options are plentiful, the store is lovely, staff are friendly, and the quality is top notch. Really unique and delicious.
