J.L. Ilsley High School

Ilsley is a great school. I have taught there a few times this year, and many times at the old building. The kids have been great, and I highly recommend the staff and admin for their professionalism and welcoming demeanor.I know, this from a fellow educator, but what cha gonna do?

Great New School as of September 2021. They torn down the old school andputting a Sports Field in as I write.

they have rival gangs,the teachers treat the students terribly,i have no idea what has happened the school has fallen apart since last year,i’ve never seen anything like it and these new rules ain’t doin anything the kids r too wild,and someone’s child is going to end up DYING until something is actually done with more rules than just a suspension cuz suspension ain’t teaching nobody anything

Place is falling apart staff is okay depends on who it is dumb rules got impalmeted wish I could give give less then a 1 star review

not Great education at all and teachers."dont teach you anything at all and its A waste of time for your child to go to this school and NO college will want you in NS and they are the worst school in Halifax and your child want be able to get A job they not hire student that finish from J.L. Ilsley High School and they missed up your child brain and there future and they let you that you NOT make anything of your self and beware and rethink the school and they give your child IP paper when they finish schoolno true high school papers and you to take Ged after you finish from J.L. Ilsley High School"

when to that school in 2006-07 they were not friendly staff at all rude people and grad paper are total throw and know one hire or any college will take you with j.l papers they think its A joke and j.l was so rude to my in 2006 and i could not go to reg school only ip school it was not right treament from that school and school sysytem was all rude staff and we learn nothing in that school they teach not right history and school a scram and all fake your kids gets this paper that nscc will not take or the NB colleges and pei college and that high school is only good in toronto to go to college or school and your kid will be without a future

They let kids make fun of kids with disabilities and they like to suspend people for no reason I was just tryna to defend my aunt with downsyndrum and the kid got in less trouble then I did

Pretty good school, the fights must stop, there should be more mask enforcing to make sure we are safe as there has been a case of COVID on Dentith recently.

I have called this school 17 times and left at least 10 messages trying to get information on how to get my daughters registered (we moved from out of province) finally decided to just walk in and talk to someone.I entered the main office through one of the 3 doors and obtained 2 registration forms on the counter, however all 3 doors were locked as I tried to exit. I won't detail how I eventually got out but I can assure you that it wasn't with the help of any staff. Absolutely no one heard my banging and yelling. Had I been less physically capable I would have had to call 911.My experience with this school so far is extremely negative, and as of tomorrow school starts and my girls need to take the school bus but of course no one at the school even knows they're coming because there's no one there to recieve the forms we filled out or even answer the phone. I feel like this is not going to end well.

They will soon be tearing down the old school, they have built the new school in the sports field. Excellent idea to build in sports field so school stays in the same area
