Kumo Sukiyaki Restaurant

Not a real AYCE experience, servers and management severe lacking. AYCE is about generous portions and eating/drinking to your heart's content. When we first flagged someone down after sitting at our table for 15-20 mins, the server wrote nothing down and likely did not submit our order as in the next 15 mins two separate servers also asked us if we were ready to order. Only one of the servers (older lady) was smart enough to write anything down, perhaps more experienced. But overall don't expect anyone to check on you, don't expect your drinks to be refilled, and fully expect to have to flag people down constantly.Overall the food is decent as is the price but they won't invest in proper training or POS software that can help the team function properly. We saw someone who may have been a manager just standing back and observing while all the servers looked quite stressed. Lot of mistakes and a really slow dinner service.Had they worked efficiently a lot more diners could go in and out of this place thus generating more revenue but it's a mess. Perhaps worth revisiting in 6 months to a year, but Kumo is going to have to go through a lot of growing pains if this is where they're at now after a few weeks of operation.

Went with the basic all you can eat silver series for 32.99 which included pork belly and two cuts of beef. The beef was delicious and great quality. Loved all the sides, veggies, and dips that were also AYCE. Sides included ebi mayo, takoyaki, octopus, seaweed salad, and kimchi. There was good variety for the AYCE veggies like mushrooms and greens. The AYCD menu for additional 4.99 was worth it too. The peach yakult and calpis drinks were so good!The sauces which included spicy and ponzu came with fresh brown eggs. It was lots of fun to cook the food yourself in the pot. They even include all you can eat fruit and dessert so for the price you pay, this meal is a feast that is worth it.Would have been 5 stars but one star was lost due to them running out of pork so we just ate beef with our chosen series, lots of our orders were dropped as they don’t write down your orders, and service was bare basics. They should give a checklist for you to tick your orders so they can see themselves and cross things off once they deliver your orders to prevent confusion and wrong orders.

Choice: Black seriesMy 2 cent:Despite all the negative reviews, the service was quite well. I for sure agree with the $18 setup fee kind of a far fetch.Appy + Dessert:I liked the tako-wasa for appy. Dessert? I went for the ice cream bar and mochi. Goodness! Oh, yes, the non alcoholic drinks were adequate.Main:The meat were nice and quality with the black series option. Some of their meats were a lot fattier cuts towards the mid of the experience.

All you can eat sukiyaki spot in Richmond.Food was of good quality and the price is reasonable given the foregoing.Only nitpick is that they seem to be understaffed and it takes a while to get a server’s attention.It is hard to find a good sukiyaki spot so I recommend Kumo and will be back!

My family and I had a wonderful experience at this all-you-can-eat restaurant. The customer service was impeccable - the workers were attentive, efficient, and friendly. The food was great, with the ebi mayo and Mochi ice cream being particular standouts. The value was impressive for the amount of food we were able to enjoy in a spacious and clean environment. Plus, they were able to accommodate our last minute reservation request for Mother's Day. We'll definitely be back!

Great spot for families/friends to get together and share top quality food. We had the unlimited option. The beef and pork were perfectly sliced and had a good amount of fat in each slice which made it melt in your mouth. There are four choices of sauces and they went really well with the meat. Dipping the meat into the beaten egg just cools it down and goes down smoothly. Their shrimp tempura with the mayo is also a must. The dessert with the mochi and Kirkland ice cream bar was also unlimited! Attentive and friendly service overall especially for new customers who have never experienced sukiyaki before. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

The dining experience was good overall. The beef was tender and the Sukiyaki soup base was flavourful. However, the downside of this restaurant was some of the beef and pork they served later on were extremely fatty and there’re hardly any meat on it. I do wish the meat would be more consistent in the future.

My Family’s first sakiyaki experience. Appetizers simple but delicious. We just avail the cheapest AYCE but it’s satisfying. We’ll definitely going back again.

Service is really lacking , the restaurant was full and there were only 2 servers running around. We had the black menu. Food was meh. The meat from the first round was totally different than the meat from the second and third round. You will need to add $18 for the pot service. Unlimited costco ice cream bar and mochi.
