Holiday Inn Express & Suites Airport-Calgary, an IHG Hotel

Stayed 1 night, and wasn't at the hotel much. But from my short experience:Room was nice and clean, smelled clean.Black out blinds worked well, and fell it was better then curtains considering the AC/heater is below it. Curtains seem to always get caught in the air flow and can limit circulation. Blinds seemed to allow better air flow and the room felt better.Liked the updated lighting with easy reach switches, and plugs with USB.TV was an LG, with better display quality then other cheap brands in some hotels.The bedding was clean and fresh smelling. And I slept very comfortably over other places I've been to(I was pretty tired though)Bathtub is pretty low and didn't drain well, so no soaking in it, but good for small children. My shower head wasn't very desirable, spread too wide, or poor pressure on a narrow setting. Would be nice to see a better shower head.The bottled soaps is nice, but the soap didn't seem to lather well, like it was watered down.The other services like Breakfast, pool etc.. I didn't have a chance to experience, but I would guess it would be a positive one with the quality of the room.

This hotel is always a great place to stay. The breakfast is delicious and the morning server is always kind and greets you with a smile and friendly conversation. The front desk girls are very pleasant along with housekeeping. Only issue we came across was the dirty ice machine . We filled a couple buckets and every time there were large black mould clumps. We brought it to the front desk's attention but it was still an issue the next day. It definitely needs a clean. But otherwise we had a great stay.

It’s a shame that being a nice hotel, this location is absolutely filthy. Upon check in, the staff were very rude. Our room was modern and nice, but visible staining and dirt on walls and shower doors. The pool is disgusting. There is a lot of hair and garbage all over the floor. The stairs and top of the water slide are very mouldy. No pool towels available and front desk was reluctant to provide any. Would not stay again and do not recommend, as there are many other hotels near by.

We stayed here a month or so ago. Our room was great, the size was nice. The beds were comfortable too. My only couple complaints was the pool it was so cold and I didn't care for the extra alarming deposit on rooms. You are required to pay double for your room a security deposit on top of the room cost. So I had a held amount on my credit card of $336. It would have been nice to have a heads up on this cost. You get the other half back after you checkout or a few days later.
