West Point Cycles - Kerrisdale

Thank you for fixing my bike wheel for the second time needed badly for my delivering jobs , try my best to avoid pot holes, I understand they only fix there own brand e-bikes I just wish they could fix Thunder e-bikes so I do not have go all the way to Richmond to fix it.

My wife & I rode our Brompton Bikes for 2 years & they were great. We had bought them from Toronto only because they had stock at the time. Last summer we decided that they should have a professional service to retain their functionality. Took them to West Point Cycle Kerrisdale, who charged $150 each to replace the chains & adjust the gear shifit mechanism. We each have 6 geared Bromptons. We rode for about 2 more months of summer (without incident), then stored them in a weather proof garage for winter. Recently, we took them out in the spring & both gear shifters on my wife's bike did not work & one of mine also was not functioning properly. Her bike was unrideable.This only after they had provided their service the previous summer. They subsequently did another service this spring, which they then charged another $110+. When I complained to the manager Matt about the service, he was completely unwilling to provide any kind of consideration about the additional charge. Not a lot of money, but perhaps one of the worse cases of customer service I have ever experienced. They don't accept responsibility for their service work. As a business owner, I was flabbergasted. How do they remain in business? I DO NOT recommend this business to any cyclist. BEWARE - you have been warned,Unfortunately I now have more to add. to this very sad story. My gear shift problem with my Brompton was NOT resolved during my test ride at home. I then emailed the store twice as follows;The services were performed On April 19th, 2022.

I left my bicycle in for a tune up, change the tyre and fix an issue with the chain. He inspected it and said it would cost around 250 and take 10-14 days but will probably be sooner. Took my email and phone number. 2 weeks later and no word from them, and as you can't speak to anyone on the phone I called to the shop.I had to wait outside while he went into check the status of my bike, and he spent 5 minutes at the desk with the guy on the computer. I realized when I got home 20minutes later, what they were doing was emailing me my quote and detailing the problems with my bike (as I stood outside looking in the window at them).He came back outside. He said he tried to email me over the 2 weeks. Which was a blatent lie, I asked why they didn't call and he said, yes we should have called you".So

I never thought I would have such a horrible experience at a “bicycle” shop, I have to share this with who ever is reading this so they don’t make the same regrettable mistake. This is not a place to go if you want to buy or fix a bike and here is why; Most horrible customer service I’ve ever seen. It’s like as soon as you come in the door you have done something bad to every one in the shop. The prices are clearly too high compared to other shops or online and that not just on bikes but accessories too. Hours of operation are ridiculous. Service is not even close to par and super pricey. I would recommend their other shop on second but I still think they don’t deserve it. Find a good shop in your local area and don’t be afraid to ask a lot of questions. Pretty much like a car mechanic because what you don’t know will allow them to over charge. Good luck and happy ridding, I hope this helps.

Their bike technicians do not appear to be competent, with rude and unhelpful staff. I am unable to recommend, and would not trust my bike with them.

Blown away by the service by Foster and Bob! I bought my spin shoes from the Main Street branch but when I started having problems with my shoes because they didn't match my gym's stationary bike's pedals, I called Foster if he could help me since the Kerrisdale location was closer for me. He was so friendly and open and say, Absolutely! Come on by!" I went back to West Point Cycles a total of three more times. Foster first helped me to tighten the SPD cleats on my shoe; Bob helped me to cut into the rubber guard; and Bob helped me again to adjust the cleat higher up so that it would match the ball of my foot. West Point never made me feel like I was inconveniencing them

Bob is a great guy! I came into the store on 2 separate occasions to test some electric bikes. I tested about 5 bikes in total, asked about a 100 questions and ultimately didn't end up purchasing one because the one I wanted wasn't in stock for my size. Despite all of this, Bob was extremely respectful and did not show any frustration or negativity for me taking so much of his time only to not buy anything. At the end, Bob even pointed me in the right direction where I could possibly get the bike I wanted.

Excellent customer service from both of the gentlemen working there today. One helped with a helmet fitting, and the other helped me purchase a lock that was within my budget. Highly, highly recommend coming here.

I took my bike in after my front tire was stolen. Matt was terrific!He explained what needed to be done, how long it would take and even walked to my car to get the bike and take it to the shop. He was friendly, courteous and my bike was fixed in no time! Great service, Thanks!

I have been purchasing parts and servicing my road bike at Westpoint Cycle for the last two years. From my personal experiences, I am completely satisfied. James the mechanic was always very helpful. I have recommended my friend there as well.
