Beautiful place, with a view of the lake from most buildings . Great food and restaurant staff. Indoor pool had a hot tub with an amazing view, Oudoor pool was alright. The game room was a nice to have at night and rainy days especially the pool and air hockey tables. The older reception lady ? Karen could do with better manners. Some views from the cottage were obstructed by trees

Came here for dinner only. Very nice view over looking Rice Lake. Wanted to try a few different things but then the server tells us Saturday night is all you can eat roast beef dinner with all the fixens plus salad and dessert for $29.99. Definitely a great deal.

I'm always glad to know Elmhirst's is there. This time we dropped in for dinner with last minute planning on a quiet evening in shoulder season. The view over the frozen lake was perfect, and a fire crackled in the hearth. The food matched the ambience and so did the service. Our experience was relaxing, rejuvenating and delicious.

Elmhurst resort is a gorgeous place to go. After my first night I woke up to a gorgeous view and a load of baby geese on the water. The food here is amazing. They really went out of their way to make me and my wife enjoy the experience. I would happily stay here again. The cottages were well stocked with all utensils. The cottage was clean and tidy. The beds were comfortable.I want to say a special thank you to Jeff and Ryder as they both really made meal times a treat!

Came here for Mother’s Day breakfast. Boating in wasn’t entirely clear where to dock, but we figured it out. Exceptional service and great food. Well done!

Beautiful location, with views of Rice Lake. I fully enjoyed the inside pool, sauna and hot tub. There are so many other things to do for all seasons. Looks like a beautiful place to have a Wedding or other special occasion.

Don't make a reservation, and if you have one cancel it now! This is not a resort, it is a collection of tarted up poorly maintained cottages on grounds that need substantial work and upgrading. Docks full of goose poo, poor water pressure and unreliable hot water, old dirty outdoor chairs, antiquated equipment for the poorly kept tennis and volley ball courts, overgrown fire pit, closed outdoor pool, etc... Despite the number of amenities closed and the poor quality of those that were open they had the nerve to charge more than the original quote. Also beware of the hidden fees and follow-up on any special requests you made - our request for a pet free cottage landed us in the dog friendly zone. Despite calling management to register our complaints no apology or offer of compensation was offered. They did promise to follow-up with their managers however substantial improvement is needed and only a complete makeover would make this place a resort. Book at your own risk.

This is a beautiful place to visit. Go for a weekend, a week, whatever... it's a lovely place to spend your time. We got married here this past weekend and it was incredible. Service, food, support all of it was amazing. Highly recommend.

Just finished our stay here. Overall the resort was an enjoyable time and we (2 couples, 3 kids) will come back again next summer. However there are a few items that I want to address, both positive and negative. Our stay cost us roughly $150/adult per night. This got us a 3 bedroom cottage with a gorgeous view of Lake Rice, our own deck with chairs and a BBQ, our own dock, and access to all resort activities. This includes canoeing, paddle boarding, kayaking, indoor and outdoor pools which were in great shape and perfect temperature, fishing rods and worms, court sports like tennis, pickleball, badminton, and basketball.Unless you're staying for a minimum of a week, there's far more activities available than you'll have time to complete - especially with a handful of kids with you.The cottages are cozy. They're clean, very functional, and are all located within easy walking distance of anywhere on the resort. Don't expect a Four Seasons or Hyatt hotel type of room. It's a cottage. The bathrooms have little storage space but you can get everything done in there and the utilities all worked great. The kitchen has all the necessities like toaster, microwave, fridge, oven/stove, and it came with plates utensils, pots and pans, as well as a few odds and ends like a popcorn bowl, lemonade pitcher, and a salad spinner. The family room was our favorite. The couches and chairs were very comfortable and the fireplace was easy to use and we spent many evenings with some beer or wine sitting around while the kids used up their last remaining minutes of energy.Of the resort activities, by far our biggest frustration came with the lake activities like the dock island and the water trampoline. These were covered in seagull sh-t all day every day. I get it that it's hard to control flocks of seagulls at a lake, but don't constantly advertise these amenities if they can't be maintained decently. A few times I saw a staff member shooing them away to clean it but they'd come right back shortly after. Our favorite by far was the tube rides on the lake. Alex and Claire were amazing staffers for this activity and gave us an amazing experience riding around Rice Lake on the tube. If you want to challenge Alex to see what tricks he can pull to try and knock you off the tube, he'll do his best as the boat operator.Using the resort amenities like paddle boards or fishing rods are very easy and simple. The front desk is very helpful and responsive. They even helped us with a plumbing issue that came up on day 2 when our faucet wouldn't stop dripping. A maintenance person came by shortly after and got it fixed. The food there is also amazing, as is their wine and beer selection. You have to try their beef since the cattle are raised on the farm on the property. If beef isn't isn't thing, the duck confit was also amazing. As I said at the top, we really enjoyed our time here and want to return next summer. Once the kids are a year older it will hopefully be a bit easier to organize some activities or outings on the property without so much chaos and tantrums slowing us down. The kids are at the age now where they'd love to use the water trampoline but not when the black trampoline is mostly white from the seagulls. That should be dealt with somehow.

Been 10 times over the past 7 years and the experience gets better every visit. Friendly staff, great food and service, cozy cottages that are pet friendly, pool, hot tub, sauna, etc. The views of the lake are stunning and the trails offer some great sights. We love this place and will be back!
