This place is fantastic! Reasonably priced, lots of gluten free options and the service is quick! The coffee is also pretty good. It can get busy but it is worth the wait. Their home fries do have a coating on them and they are really good but I don't think they're gluten free. I do recommend the champ. Their hollandaise sauce is a bit sweeter than I like it

You'll have an excellent and quick breakfast at Mary's Place. I had a lovely bfast sandwich made with a croissant and my partner had the Birmingham. All very tasty! The only black mark on an otherwise great experience is finding out that we'd been charged more for the Birmingham than was advertised on the menu (shown as $13, charged $16). I would request that Mary's update their menu to reflect actual prices. Also the restaurant itself isn't properly ventilated and is very hot, particularly the bathrooms. The space could also use some sprucing up as it has a cafeteria feel.

Every time I come to Halifax I always make an effort to eat here. The owner and her staff do a fantastic job of taking care of you.It’s a diner that makes you feel like family.

Came here for our final meal in Halifax before heading to the airport. Ordered the Birmingham breakfast which was your basic eggs/protein/toast/potatoes. The laminated menu on the table said it was 13.00. Once we finished we made our way to the cash area to settle up. I tapped my card, asked for an email receipt and my girlfriend and I left for the airport. I checked my email at the airport while we were waiting to board the plane to find the price for that Birmingham breakfast had jumped from $13 to $16.50 plus tax.I thought I had misread the price on the menu until I went back to their Google listing and saw pictures of the menu which clearly states $13.The service was good. The breakfast was good. Had I noticed the discrepancy at the time I paid the bill I feel the friendly woman at the till would have definitely fixed it immediately. My suggestion is to update either the computer system to reflect the prices listed on your menu, or update your menu with the increased cost of your dishes in your computer system.

Excellent food. Kelly and her team are awesome. Very friendly and attentive. Thank you so much! 10 min walk from Dalhousie U. (we stayed at the residence). Will definitely keep in mind next time we visit (from Toronto).

Good food, good service, friendly and quick, we had the eggs florentine, and the breakfast poutine, both were delicious, the one thing I would change is to ask for my poached eggs to be a bit runny.

Discovered this place when looking for something besides hospital cafeteria food (been eating a lot of it the last couple weeks lol) by searching up places to eat near me on google maps. The restaurant was very easy to find! I was greeted the moment I walked in the door. The wait staff was super nice and friendly! The food was simple but very tasty and cooked properly. Love the seasoned home fries! And the prices weren't unreasonable for the amount of food on my plate. While I was there I watched the owner (I assume she was the owner) go above and beyond for an elderly lady who came in and they had absolutely no issues with modifying the order for the older lady to her specifications. If you're looking for a great little place with decent food and amazing staff, this is the place! I'll be back!
