Thornhill Soccer Club
The club is good just for house league, absolutely not professional for Reb, too much politics, each volunteer coach has son who is not soccer player, no skills but his spot in the team is guarantee which means taken the spot from other excellent players. I don't recommended.

Please stay away from this place. I had both of my children for soccer this summer, one coach for 30 girls. Very unprofessional , no real soccer training, please do not waste your money and time here.

Great club. Enjoy with my teenage son for 9 years now. Good program for kids. Food exercise. Leadership is good. Coaches are good and some excellent.

I had the WORST experience with this club. I have put my kids with many soccer clubs and this one was the worst. It seems like they only care for the money and not for the kids. Very unprofessional and rude when consulting with children, parents, and other staff. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CLUB!

Complete waste of time and money. There is no teaching/coaching involved. The coaches barely even speak with the kids. Their only role is to make sure kids don’t wonder away from the field. The “coaches” are teenagers. No encouragement, no techniques and no game. Very disappointed.

My son was registered in the house league during the Fall and Winter, we didn't have a good experience at all due to the coach - he was impatient, lazy and didn't communicate in a professional way. I don't recommend this club, it is a waste of time and money unfortunately.

My son was in this club last year. The classes never began on time, and 80% of the time, the coach was late, showing up 15-20 minutes AFTER the class began.

Worst manner from coaches and administrative team, very sad to have had a terrible experience and after reading the reviews, now I feel that I should have listened to others and registered my child in a club with professional club/coaches who respect players/families and are passionate about what they do.

Honestly, 1 star is too much and I should have read the other reviews before registering. My daughter took the winter/spring recreational indoor soccer program and it was horrible... complete money grab and waste of time. We are new to soccer and we thought maybe a league is better than recreational so we enrolled both our daughters for the summer program (1 practice, 1 game). There were not enough teams in Thornhill for a league so our games were all at Wismer park in North East Markham... bit of a drive especially at 6pm. Obviously, this was not mentioned at the time of registration. Then we had issues with coaches... all are volunteers... they are parents of players. The owner Steve and his son Peter essentially take your money and assume a parent will lead the practice and games. Our 2012/2013 girls league had a rotating list of coaches.... sometimes they would be at practice, sometimes not. James and Robert are awesome coaches and are great with kids but you could tell they were not in communication with Steve. Uniforms arrived late, we didn't get our socks and ball until 2 weeks before the end season, and it was only today, at the final game that I met Steve (again...he takes ur money and leaves it to the parents to organize themselves). He only came today for the second tournament game because a parent called and asked him to come as our regular coach was away. But what led me to write this review is Steve's extremely demeaning speech to the girls after the tournament. We were told about the tournament the Tuesday before the Saturday/Sunday final tournament; 1/2 the team wasn't there probably because they didn't read the email because it wasn't in the header and you had to scroll down to the bottom of the game reminder email to see that there was a tournament this weekend. The girls played well but lost all 4 games. Steve told the girls they didn't play well and that they get a participation medal only. When I approached him afterwards and said that they lost because no one was here and there was no consistent coach he said it is the parents fault for not volunteering. His heart is not in the game or with the children. He had 18 children whose parents paid the registration fee. Games are 7 on 7. You do the math. He can pay for a coach. We live in Thornhill. If I have to drive to Markham for a game, I might as well drive to Markham for a practice too and join Markham Soccer Club. Overall, Thornhill Soccer Club is a money grab and from what I understand is getting worse by the season.
