Food not too bad, place well located but the waiter was very aggressive ! I was with some friends and my Russian friend made a great effort to speak French. We don't know why exactly, but the waiter got suddenly upset and took his arm violently. Our only theory for this bad behaviour is that he was maybe thinking my friend was making fun of him, which he wasn't, only trying to speak FR. Anyway, I definitely do NOT recommend this place, the experience was terrible! There are plenty of better options in this area.

We were deceived for our money!I would like to tell you why:The waiter was very rude.All other guests got bread.We were tourists from Germany and were unsure, we did not say anything when he gave us a handwritten bill.Since our first visit to Quebec / Canada was in a restaurant, we still did not know the tax bill. The waiter has brought us much too high taxes on the bill.When we said in that we would like to take the bill with us, told us that we would issue another. On the other was only the total amount, without taxes. We then counted again at home and found out that he has cheated us a total of 25%It is very annoying, we could have asked for the other bill, of course, but as tourists we were just too nervous. The stupid was that we did not ask the kellner (small, corpulent, somewhat older, according to his statement Italians) in this regard, or insisted to take the receipt with him.I know we will not get our money back, it does not matter to me either. I just want all people to go to this restaurant, because the staff there are criminal

Incredibly friendly, great food. We ended up seated in the back and felt almost like we were family with how friendly and sociable everyone was. Definitely loved my experience there.

Dined here several nights ago. Very disappointed as was told by the man at the entrance that the pasta was fresh. My penne arabiatta was pretty tasteless, very poor covering of sauce and the pasta tasted like the cheapest of dried pasta. My husband's gnocchi wasn't much better. We were seated very hurriedly and the staff were very distant and harassed. Definitely won't be back. Not to be recommended.

This is my husband's and my favorite place for dinner when we're in Montreal. Peter treats us like royalty whenever we're in town, as if we're family, and always picks a great wine to go with our meal. The bruschetta is covered in fresh tomatoes, the salads are large (sometimes too large!), with a wonderful vinaigrette, and every entree we've ever had has been perfect. This last time, we had veal parmesan and penne a la romanov (penne with vodka sauce) and both were excellent. We're always too full for dessert, but a shot of sambuco or limoncello hits the spot. We're only in Montreal between 3 and 6 times a year (we're from Philadelphia), but Chez Paesano (and its first-floor neighbor Napoli) are always a treat. It is also nice to be on the second floor, away from the hustle and bustle of the sidewalk crowd. Looking forward to the next time.

I do not recommend that place.We went there with a group of 6 people and none of us liked their dishes. Some even felt sick after their meal.For my part I ordered spaghetti, they were at the limit between not cooked enough and al dente, and had no taste.I mentionned to our waiter that we didn't enjoy our meal, he didn't seem to acknowledge our disappointment and just ignored it.
