I ordered the Jollof Rice with Fried chicken Combo and it was absolutely awful. The rice was hard and undercooked, and the chicken (3 cheap drumsticks) were undercooked in the middle. They did not provide with any plantains as specified in their menu. Apart from just rice and chicken there wasn't any vegetable or salad which means this hardly qualifies as a proper meal. $17 wasted. Avoid at all costs.

I really wanted to like this but I have to say the Jollof rice was a fail. It tasted like rice and stew stirred together, the chicken was also half cooked. 3 stars because the assorted meat was great.

The interior design is very lovely. I had fun chatting with the lady at the front when I had concerns about the ingredients for the egusi soup. She took her time to expain what they use. It was my first time trying and it was delicious. The turkey wing was just over the top amazing.

I saw their reviews which they obviously bought on Uber eats and I told my spouse to order rice and chicken plus goat meat, extra rice and some other food. The goat meat was missing and the rice DID NOT pass for a concoction rice talkless of jollof rice. Others were averagely okay, nothing spectacular. To say I am disappointed that a restaurant cooked jollof rice like this is an understatement!First time il throw a food away because even my 4year old couldn’t eat it. I feel bad throwing it away because I wasted money and that is the reason I just have to give this review. You people did not try with the rice you cooked on Wednesday, 14th June 2023. Next time we are in Ottawa, we are definitely avoiding you, we’d rather eat burger if other restaurants are not available!

Wow! Great food, great staff and nice area to sit! We had the fried rice and the joloff rice with chicken. Joloff rice was hands down a winner! The chicken was fried, juicy and tender! We will be going back for another meal!

This was about the 6th or 7th time I've ordered here since this restaurant opened. The first time I ordered Egusi Soup, and the food was so delicious! I thought the portion size was decent for the price and it came in a bigger container size. I have even taken a picture of the container size pictured. Well, the next time I ordered, I was surprised to get food in the smaller container which is the standard size they now package their food in. I was disappointed with the small portion, but the taste made up for my disappointment. Over the next few orders its been inconsistent, sometimes food is too salty or too oily(greasy), the meat at times can be very tough to chew through, especially the tripe and cow foot meat which I end up throwing. Today I ordered fried rice with egusi through Skip the dishes. The egusi stew tasted good although very greasy. The top layer was just oil, after I poured it out, I had little egusi stew left, and the rice was very disappointing, it was clearly not fresh at all! The taste was lacklustre and not flavorful at all. I ended up throwing out the rice because it did not smell nice. That's $7.99 plus tax of my money gone just for the rice! I definitely won't be ordering the fried rice again. At this point, I think I've given them enough tries. I give them 2 stars coz the egusi stew generally tastes good, though the portions are small, but they have missed the mark when it comes to consistency for me.

I frequently order Uber pick up from this location and have never had a bad experience. Always super friendly and great food! I've got my friend from Cornwall hooked. And have introduced it to many of my friends who continue to go back!

I’ve ordered several times from this place and this is not the first time this has happened but because I wanted to support a black owned business I decided not to write a review the first time! But this time, Completely unacceptable. I ordered 2 pepper soups and a jollof rice w goat platter. The pepper soup was great but my jollof rice was so bad! It had gone sour and they still gave it to me. The smell was so bad and sour! It’s is completely unacceptable and will not be ordering from here again I rather not get good poisoning.

The food is delicious, the servings really aren’t bad and the prices are good. It reminds me of food from home. The lady at the cash was so nice and gave me an extra serving of pepper sauce. I wish I got her name. Will definitely order from here again and again.Tip: If possible, order at the restaurant instead of Uber eats or skip. It lets you meet the people behind the business, who are super friendly.

People are raving about this place and I don't know why. We went there Saturday night. They seemed stunned to see us. No one else was there, but they seemed to have a lot of takeout business, judging by the bags they were preparing and the Uber Eats delivery people picking up food.A surly teenager brought us menus. We sat. There was a TV playing a hallmark tv special above our heads. Loudly. The surly teenager's mom was at one of the tables and had to tell the kid to bring me a bottle opener for my non-alcoholic beer.Did we want our food there? Yes. Was that our first mistake? I got a deep fried turkey leg. Literally. A turkey leg, dropped in a deep fryer, taken out, served to us. Next to it, flavorless cooked yam. My wife's soup, slightly better. But everything was bland or barely edible. Our food was served to us in takeout containers with plastic forks and knives. You cannot eat a deep fried turkey leg with a plastic fork. Nor can you eat soup with a plastic fork. We asked for a spoon and got one. It was also plastic. After a few bites, my wife and I gave up. We said we'd take the rest to go and got a plastic bag. The meal, one of the blandest I've ever had, came to 60 bucks. We left, with our takeout meals. Walking down the street, I spotted a garbage can and threw the whole thing in the trash. Is this a cultural thing? Are people longing for traditional Nigerian food, and this is what they expect to get? I genuinely do not know. But it was one of the weirdest and worst meals I've had in a long time.
