Kai Jacobson Photography

I know it's probably cliche - but seriously you don't need to look any further for a photographer. Kai is AMAZING. I have a zillion things to say about him. I'd say the 2 main things you look for in a photographer are 1) photo quality (obviously) and 2) personality. 11/10 for both. The photos speak for themselves - before hiring Kai for our wedding I looked at 10+ other photographers, and all of them edited their photos to look so dark/high contrast. Kai makes his photos light and colourful! They're BEAUTIFUL. While taking the shots, he helps you find a nice balance between posing and looking natural. By constantly hyping you up, cracking jokes, and just generally being friendly and outgoing - he definitely makes you feel more comfortable being in front of the camera. Lastly, Kai helped coordinate and herd people for photos (and just in general) which was a huge help. I'm going to have a second wedding just so we can use Kai again. I'm not kidding.

Kai was amazing as our wedding photographer. He was fun, creative, adaptable, efficient, and made everyone super comfortable. Our pictures came so quickly and our friends and family cannot stop commenting on how well they turned out. If you are looking for a wedding photographer, look no further!

My wife and I chose Kai to shoot both our engagement and wedding photos and I cannot express how thankful I am that we did. We’re both not super comfortable with having our photos taken, but you would never know it from the photos as he totally put us at ease from the very start of the engagement shoot and they turned out incredible. He’s clearly an absolute pro with tons of experience, was super kind and responsive over e-mail, and, overall, helped to manage any anxiety we had by suggesting several gorgeous locations, what clothing we might want to wear/what would look good on camera, and how to pose naturally etc. When we got the engagement shots back, we were completely blown away by how good he made us look and we knew that we were in great hands for our wedding day. Not only was it great to have one less thing to worry about on our big day, but Kai totally added to the atmosphere and experience of our wedding with his personality and we, our wedding party, and our guests loved having him there. Once again, the photos he took of us and our guests turned out beyond what we could have imagined. Would absolutely recommend Kai to anyone and everyone, particularly the engagement shoot and wedding day package, as it was worth every penny. Already said it a million times, but thank you, Kai!

My wife and I were referred by our friends who used Kai for their wedding. After our first interaction with Kai we knew we were in good hands.Leading up to the engagement shoot, Kai was incredibly personable, flexible and worked around our busy schedules to make it happen. He recommended two great, private spaces and his personality and humour made us feel comfortable and relaxed during the shoot. Neither of us felt like we were being forced into awkward poses, everything was natural and genuine.During the big day, Kai’s presence once again helped calm the nerves and was a big help coordinating and herding everyone for photos. During cocktail hour and reception he was like a ninja snapping great candid photos of us and our guests and pulled us away periodically throughout the evening to get some great sunset photos.We are so incredibly happy with the photos and I will be recommending Kai to anyone and everyone looking for a photographer in the future.

From curating an epic back-country engagement photo session, to our intimate Covid wedding, and then onto our big, post-Covid celebration, Kai was there capturing it all. From our first conversation through to our wedding day, our interactions with Kai gave us confidence in working with him. He's worth it!!He was super accomodating when we postponed, then cancelled, and then finally rebooked on a little short notice.He's so easy to talk to, laid back but still professional and he's hilarious. You will be laughing the entire time so be prepared for that!!Plus... have you SEEN his photos? They're gorgeous.He first did our engagement photos, and that was something my husband and I were nervous for because we aren't typically ones to do something like that and we can be shy and introverted but that didn't stop Kai. He had us laughing the entire time that we eventually forgot how uncomfortable and nervous we we were to begin with.Flash forward to our wedding day that finally came, the day could not have been more perfect. He doesn't pose you in awkward positions and just starts talking and laughing with you and before you even realize it, he's already got his camera out taking photos. Even after he told us to try to keep the family list on the smaller side we had a pretty big list just due to the amount of imediate family we had and we BLASTED through the entire list before the ceremony so we had time after to mingle with our guests and take some other photos we had planned.We couldn't imagine our wedding day without him there. He really made the day that much better and we couldn't recommend him enough to people looking for a photographer.

Words cannot express how happy we are with Kai's photography. Not only did he take gorgeous photos at our reception, he also struck that fine balance between keeping the shots natural, full of emotion, yet also reflecting the significance of the occasion. Kai's unique sense of perspective and fun personality helped us relax, and as a bonus our guests (especially the young ones!) absolutely loved getting their photos taken by him. He was super responsive in his emails, receptive to our ideas, and wasn't afraid to give his own as well - something we really appreciated.
