Highly recommend Emilie at Advantage Sport Medicine Physiotherapy. I was recommended to the doctor across the hall, who then referred me here. I have been going here for past 4 weeks. Emilie is very knowledgeable, kind, respectful and honest. She has made me feel comfortable telling her exactly how I feel without judgments. She has taken the time to explain my injury and the recovery plan in a language I can understand. She has gone out of her way to provide me with more information and exercise I can do at home to help my recovery. She cares about my success ALMOST more than I do. Every time I walk in the ladies are always all so kind. (Sorry, not being sexist or biased- there's never males around when I am there). Flexibility for working around my schedule has been amazing as well. Hands down, if I ever need physio again in future, I will never go to anyone else. Highly recommend this facility and more specifically ,Emilie. Thank you !

I have been coming to Advantage for Physio following my knee surgery and would definitely recommend this clinic. First of all, the front desk staff are friendly, helpful and organized which made the booking process easy. The space is modern, the gym is fully equipped and I love the private treatment rooms. My physios (I saw Norm and Austin) we’re incredibly knowledgeable and patient. They took their time to go through my treatment plan, made sure I knew what to do on my own and followed my progress as I healed. I would 100% come back here. Thank you for your care!

I was referred to this clinic by a high performance athlete I know.As an aging athlete (50+) I have been working with Tahisha Naidu and other professionals at this clinic relating to an ongoing back issue and could not recommend them more. Improvements have been measurable and am in a better place today.

I have been to three physios since back to back car accidents almost 3.5 years ago now and I have remained in pain with my one arm unable to lift past my shoulder, and unable to lift.Since seeing Danielle at Advantage Physiotherapy, I have progressed so much further than I ever thought possible. She did not just hand me a piece of paper and send me on my way. I still have home physio to do, but a lot of the benefits are coming with the manual muscle manipulation and IMS in clinic. I am not done here yet and I still have a load of work to go, but for the first time in a long time, I can lift my arm, my pain is decreasing, I have the ability to shoulder check and do my own hair again. All things you take for granted when you cannot lift your arm. But the progress is there. So I highly recommend for sure.

This place works their magic! Never had a problem with Advantage, everyone is very kind and polite. I find that they’ll treat you better and are more knowledgable than any health care employee I’ve encountered. Thank goodness for the hard working staff in Advantage Sport Medicine Physiotherapy. Thank you for helping me recover!!

Emilie Brown is an exceptional PT. I noticed immediate relief after my first session and have been making remarkable progress with mobility and stability since. 10/10 recommend.

I didn’t even make it past reception!! They are the “face”of your company and in this day and age where ANY complaint can get one labeled as a “Karen”, I was less than impressed by first being ignored then talked over repeatedly when I tried to speak. She was not rude per se but very difficult to deal with. I couldn’t hear her but then she wasn’t really listening when I tried to tell her that. Don’t know about the physio so this review is only about reception.

Emilie is an exceptional therapist and a true professional. She uses her exemplary assessment skills to determine what the problem is, and then she couples her findings with a specific treatment that is well validated in literature. As a healthcare professional, Emilie will not waste your time on treatments you don't need, and she will explain her clinical decision making. As a physiotherapist myself and an instructor at the University, I would go to Emilie 10x out of 10.

I decided to give Advantage a try after my regular physio left temporarily on maternity leave. I’m disappointed to say that my experience was sub par and I did not receive the treatment I needed. Starting with the good, the facility itself is modern and in an easily accessible location with plenty of parking. The staff were all pleasant to deal with in-person and over the phone. The initial assessment was comprehensive. My PT was thorough when assessing my movement and offered good exercises for me to work on. I have been to many clinics previously and this was more-or-less the same experience for the first visit.Where this clinic fell short started before the initial assessment. When booking my first appointment, I made it clear that I was coming for dry needling. They asked me follow up questions including my problem area, to which I said supraspinatus. I got a call back from the front desk about 10 minutes later informing me that my assigned PT does not needle on the first visit. This should have been my cue to try a different clinic but with the good reviews on google, I decided to give this a shot despite knowing that I desperately needed needles. I am no stranger to needles and have been getting maintenance (reset) treatments for years now so I would say I am fairly in tune with my body and pinpointing the actual muscle that is dysfunctional vs the muscles that were just compensating. In my first visit, my PT explained further about the cost/benefit of needling in relation to their personal comfort level regarding the first visit, which was fair and appreciated since this was their personal boundary. I explained that my supraspinatus is causing tension in my trapezius which is limiting my range of motion. The day after the visit, my worries of forgoing needles came true and my trap got even tighter which gave me a tension headache. I decided to call in to push my appointment ahead and to try to get needles. When I showed up for the second appointment, I was relieved to hear that the PT would needle me. They needled both traps and my left lat in spots that provided the most bang for the buck. My usual physio is more thorough and is not afraid to go deeper outside of these points but as this was the first needling session at Advantage, I obviously had to curb my expectations. However, I was very shocked to learn that my PT did not have the certifications required to needle the supraspinatus when I asked for it. Needling just my trapezius and not the supraspinatus where my root issue lies would just cause my trap to start tightening up again after a few hours. Needless to say, this ended up being not only a waste of the initial assessment fee + cost of the follow up visit, but more importantly, it was a big waste of my time, especially since I work two jobs. I am struggling to understand why I was assigned a PT who was unable to needle the part I needed, when I clearly stated it was the reason for my visit and that my trouble area was the supraspinatus in first call. This not only comes at an obvious cost to me, but it also puts my assigned PT in an uncomfortable position as well, where they were assigned a client looking for a treatment outside their scope. So I am rather disappointed with my experience and I will be looking at a different clinic that is better suited to me and is a little better with the communication on the get go. For a new client who is considering going to this clinic, I can only assume that it would be okay as long as you follow their recovery plan. But for someone like me with chronic pain and knowing exactly what I need, it's better I go somewhere else that is able to tailor the treatment to me and not start from ground 0.
