I went to H&R Block in 2020. I was in dire need of money due to being unemployed because of covid. The agent said that I had no money coming to me since I owed for fines. I did 8 years of tax returns. Within a month I was homeless and sold my cell phone. Last year I did them at 17 ave SE. I was yold they had $4500 of my money from 2020 sitting in their account. I was happy to finally get it but I dont trust them anymore. They destroyed my life

Horrible experience and unacceptable customer service. After waiting for an hour for Edward (Unit# 104 1029 17 Ave SWCalgary AB T2T 0A9).The receptionists told me several times that they were checking my files and tax return, and when we were with Edward, he had not even logged into the system. The simple answer I received from him was, Can we reschedule this appointment?"Zero stars qualification"

Initial interaction is excellent and got the job done. Paid for the peace of mind. However getting a hold of them back is difficult. Called 5 times and left voicemails and never got a call back. Someone answered and said the agent wasn’t working so she took my information down and would pass it on for them to call but they never called. Got a reassessment notice and my mind was not at peace.Got an appointment in with Mehmood. He explained everything well and there was no error on H&R block. My mind was at peace.

Worst Services - Got my Tax filed by Guru, and I got the refund. Additionally, I paid $19 extra for Peace Of Mind (which was no where close to any peace of Mind), since they entered my address wrong (not just me, but my colleague's as well).And now I am struggling to get my CRA password reset since the Mail is not reaching me, and the Online call services are not working either with CRA.My other colleague got it done somewhere else, for just $50 total with all things in perfect way.Its only later that I came to know why so many people HATE H&R and their pitty services.

Me and my husband are clients for this place since 2016. This year we came again and did our taxes over the phone. We were told to pick our paperworks and pay for the fee. Without any notice they told us that the fee went up for over 50bucks as of April 2023, my bias is that our taxes were done in March 2023 so we should get the same amount as what they told us over the phone. The receptionist did not say anything and just kepy talking in their language. So not happy with our experience wont be coming back at this place.

1) They'll charge you $95 for a single t4 tax file (you can get it done for $25 from any tx prepper ).2) They lie about instant refunds.3) Most of them are retired grumpy old ladies who don't wanna see your face.I chose protax block and I didn't even have to go there, I just sent them $25 and my t4 and they did my taxes right away without making me drive there or wait in the lobby forever.

Frienty Ko goes above and beyond expectations to get you your money. I had an issue with my QuickPay and not only did she refund my payment, but handled my issue for me. Someone from CRA called me to verify my identification and I thought it was a scam. Frienty went out of her way to verify their legitimacy on my behalf and resolved the identification issue. I am now good to go and got confirmation that my refund is on the way. Thank you Frienty. She is AMAZING!! Ask for her if you go to this location. FIVE STAR SERVICE!!

The reviews do not lie. I felt very welcomed and cared for my entire visit. Everyone was so kind and personable. Free coffee, hot choco, and tea. I walked in with no appointment on a Monday and the total time was around one hour 30 min. Will definitely recommend to anyone needing to get their taxes done in Calgary or surrounding areas! Huge thanks to the people of H&R block for an easy, stress free tax return!
