My experience with this summer camp run by the O'Connor Community Center was horrible. I ran into this camp at the outdoor Kiwanis pool where I took my camp for a nice camp experience. One of my camper, a 7 yrs girl visiting from Florida stood in line for the waterslide. Three campers from the other camp (three bigger boys) pushed her out of the line. When she wanted to get back in, they yelled at her to go to the end of the line. She was very distraught from all the yelling and mean behaviour the boys displayed and came to me crying. I walked her back to the line and told the boys that this behaviour is unacceptable. My god, the flood of rudeness and disrespect that came towards me was unbelievable. What was more unbelievable was the reaction of the camp counsellors. They stood by the boys, telling them to be quiet, while I stood in line in front of them with the sobbing girl as they continued to yell at us and being disrespectful. They clearly could not handle the boys. I ignored them as much as I could, while my camper just wanted to go home. Later on, each time I would walk one of our campers to the bathroom past the same boys, they would laugh and call us names. I again approached the Counsellor about this. I didn't see anything done. I fact, she came over to talk to the girl, trying to convince her to walk with her to see the boys. Why she would think it was a good idea to take this horrified girl to the perpetrators is beyond me. Why the boys were still be rewarded with enjoying the slide and pool and were never made to come and apologize, is something that still bothers me a lot. I can see why some counsellors are too young to know what to do in this situation, but this counsellor was very cold and showed no empathy, nor did she corrected or gave the boys any consequences for their actions. I hope we never run into this ill run camp ever again!

This place is just buzzing feom activities. You can do anything here: participate in fitness classes, swim, lift weights, socialize... Anything you want! Great and friendly place! ♥️

I went swimming there with my granddaughter and we had a great time and everybody was nice

A few years ago when I was at summer camp they call the police for lying at camp staff. The staff was ok. The camp was fun .

Signing up on March 8th for Zumba, line dancing , gentle fit. Looking forward to it. So lucky to have a location so close to home.

This community centre is sited in a perfect location, and has a big parking area. I believe for safety reasons the community situated a little bit apart from the road.
