Back again and down graded the review. Your property is in better hands of a backdraft.__________This is my second review of Economy. While I have not had the best experiences with Economy in the past, I think it's fair to also share positive experiences when they do happen.More issues with water in my tenant's unit from the unit above. I call the after hours line and spoke with Marilyn, who acted quickly on my inquiry even while driving. I was passed along to Donna who coordinated the plumber appointment and the activities with the tenant, then followed up with me to keep me in the know. All of this happened within 10 minutes of the issue being reported.While the remediation of the issue still needs to take place, which could be a completely different experience, the level of service I just received reporting the issue was precise and diligent.Great job Donna and Marilyn - thank you.MJ

I have called and emailed our condo management agent a number of times in the past month regarding work done in the building. A notice on the property from Square One states all inquiries are to be directed to this individual. I've even spoken with the receptionist, who assured me my message was passed along to the appropriate person. However, I have received no phone call, email, message or even a general update from Square One in the 5 weeks since this project started, and which was supposed to be wrapped up a day or two" after it began. It is my opinion, that this is hands down the worst property management company in Alberta. Be careful before getting into business with these people.Contrary to their lies, I am not in the business, and am not competition. Just simply expressing my opinion on how awful this company is. Especially Jenn, she is very aggressive, combative and somewhere along the way forgotten that she is the employee, not the employer, of the corps. that hire her.Not surprised to hear that she may be losing her license and that another corp. just fired her and her incompetent team this week- Park One East condo corp. in Edmonton. If you want an honest opinion on their management skills, along with a character reference for Jenn Martin, I’m sure this condo board would be more than happy to share their experiences with you. More Jen Martin lies...throw in the towel" implies that you terminated the agreement when you know that you were fired!Perhaps as a business owner you should be taking your negative reviews and working on improving your client relations instead of bashing the people who left the reviews. How can so many people from different condo corps. all say the same thing about you and your company over many years and you not admit that there is a serious issue with the way you run a business. You should be ashamed of the rating that you currently have and even more shamed of your replies on here. No one in their right mind can look at this review thread and consider hiring you. Humble yourself and try to do better."

I was a client of economy management. They managed a Condo building in downtown. As an owner of one of the units in the building I rented my property out short term and hired Economy Management to manage this apartment unit.I'll speak on both aspects of seeing how they run a business.1. As a condo group management company.2. As a rental manager.My experience with them as a condo group management. The woman (Jen) managed the condo building which is located downtown.They failed to:1. Have running hot water in the bathroom for my tenant. After making many phone calls and emails nothing happened. (BTW this unit was out of hot water for MONTHS)2. Have any reasonable systems for repairs, maintenance and timely response to water outages.3. Neglected a bed bug infestation.Failed to treat the affected units surrounding, and when I paid twice to treat my apartment said:there is no way for bed bugs to spread in this building as the walls and floors are concrete."This is an actual statement this woman said.You talk to any bug expert and they will confirm this is utter nonsense.3.5. Further neglected to inform units surrounding and throughout the building that bedbugs had been found in several units and we should inspect our own units. And neglected to hire exterminators to inspect other units surrounding.4. Accounting department repeatedly making errors on taking the condo fees out or my bank account. It was not uncommon for me to call and email about these mistakes. Conveniently charging late fees.( I have email chains of me confirming the bank information with accounting department)Overall performance as a condo management company:Atrocious.Now let's talk about Economy Management as a Rental management company.1. Had not informed me that my tenant had the policed called on them several times due to noise complaints

Really enjoy the area if you like getting up early.Excellent location for delivery in the back only.Safe: garbage cans locked and cameras.Clean enough.Good building management they try their best.good Tenants and Owners : we all get along and keep and eye out for each other.I would recommend it despite the wood floors and the thin walls.

I have been dealing with Economy Management for the past 5 years and i have been very very very disappointed. The organization, run by Jen Martin, is not responsive and does everything in their power to hurt its residents. If you have an issue Jen does not address it. If you continue having issues, the only response they give you is for you to take them to court. I am strongly against legal action, although i haven't been given any other choice. I have been extremely co-operative at every opportunity but the co-operation is very one sided. They have done damage to my property and refuse to hold the proper parties responsible. Not only this, but if there has ever been an issue, Jen Martin always assumes the residents of the building are to blame and tried to charge them for anything possible. If you are late on a payment, they go straight to lawyers to issue a caveat on your property, without as much as a phone call or email. Time and time again, i am shocked by the unprofessional-ism coming from this company and more specifically, the owner Jen Martin. I'm sure i will get a snarky unprofessional response to this review, but i wanted everyone that is thinking of this company to know they would be better handled by literally any other company out there.

I have no idea what goes on at this place, but if you can avoid them, I recommend you do.I own an apartment in Edmonton and last year selected the option to have my special levy taken out monthly, with my regular condo fees, until paid.Late last year I received notice that my account was in arrears. I provided my email with the request to have them withdrawn monthly and asked how this was possible. I received no response. Received another email and responded again with the same questions. No one could tell me what had happened, just that the levy hadn’t been taken and needed to be paid.Ok, so take the payment please and get this cleared up. Watching my account, nothing gets taken out, regular condo fees don’t get take out. I start asking questions again and we receive a generic response the bank has messed up. This happens two more times and I’m still asking when will payment be taken what is going on? I have signed two approvals stating the full amount can be taken and stated that budgeting around this, condo fees not being taken on time is causing stress, anxiety and frustration.We are now at June 14th 2023. Mays condo fees were taken on June 3rd, Junes will be taken on June 15th and I receive a call stating a caveat will be put on my apartment because the special levy has not been paid. I try to call them, no answer. I email them, no response. I have never been late for a payment in my life. I have every single piece of correspondence in regard to this matter and yet I’m the one who gets penalised? I will lodge a formal complaint, but I want to give everyone a heads up. Run if you can! I’ll be looking to sell.

Friend lives on property. No communication. When I witnessed the interactions the property management lady was very rude. And they keep making mistakes on the rent. Amazed my friend still lives there. I would advise anyone that notices this company to avoid like a plauge. Baffling amount of stupid this Sqaureone. Something real fishy going on. Slum landlords all the way.
