They have a decent collection of dancing clothing,shoes and accessories. Also have some costumes for Halloween, Christmas, etc. and all kinds of fancy hats. The staff is very helpful. It's worth a visit if you need anything for ballet or a costume party.

My girls had an amazing experience being fitted for their pointe shoes. They were very accommodating with appointment times and were considerate of the fact we were driving from out of town. Russell was very quick to respond to any questions I had. Lisa was very thorough with explaining how a pointe shoe should feel on your foot as well as discussing the mechanics of it. This is important for first time pointe dancers. She took her time and was very friendly. It is also fun for first timers to be able to get a photo holding a cute “My first pointe shoes” sign. They have a large selection and the best prices.

I arrived at 4:30pm and the store was closed. The store hours online and on the door were 11-5pm. Not the best welcome after driving an hour to get there.Hoping it’s not because of an emergency of some kind but otherwise, I was disappointed.

I visited in August to get my daughter's dance uniform.The woman helping me led me around the store and gathered all the items I requested. I specified the exact brand and style of leotard, and she quickly grabbed something she claimed was what I needed, all the while not letting me inspect the product and bringing it directly to the cash register. After checking out, I noticed that she charged me $22 for a $18 item. I went in to get a partial refund, and that's when I realized the leotard is not even close to the style I requested. It also had no price tag and I was charged $20 more than other online stores. I immediately requested a full refund.Overall very sketchy behavior and limited stock (they did not have a single pair of toddler sized ballet slippers in stock). I will not return.

We placed an order in February for women’s size large online. When we received the tags said size 4 (this is not a large). We returned the items with tracking from Canada Post and they never refunded the money. We wrote and called several times and they have ignored us. We tried to return the clothing to the Ottawa location, which we had done in the past and they did not allow us too on this occasion. Malabar was a chain and therefore they were connected.

Phone service was absolutely horrible. A simple call to ask if they had tap shoes only to be met by a rude guy that hung up on me when I asked him to wait a minute to check something.

Unfortunately it appears Malabar is yet another casualty of Amazon. The stock is dwindling and the store is not what I remember it to be.The Staff member helping me was great and an asset to this store and any other he may work at in the future.

Very kind and helpful store manager, he helped to exchange the wrong dance shoes without any issue and also recommended the appropriate choice. Not only this, he also told the story of the store owner who had in the past 60k costumes and had to still it for to pandemic.
