ARCAN Taekwon-Do

I started with ARCAN as a white belt and I have loved it ever since. You don’t need previous martial art experience to fit in here, everyone has a different skill level and goal. Whether you are looking to train recreationally or want to start competing, there is program for that! For myself, I am a part of the ELITE team. When attending tournaments, ARCAN stands out from the other schools for their high level and the fact that everyone is a family. Mr. C has prepared myself and others to compete at national and international levels. He puts so much effort and time into making sure all of his students are at a place where they will succeed and develop confidence.

We have had the pleasure of being at Arcan Taekwon-Do for almost 3 years now. The experience has been amazing and we have been able to see a huge improvement in the skills of our son. As part of the competitive Black Belt group, Mr Cabanas and Ms Perry have taught our son so much through all their time, patience, and willingness to share their knowledge and experience. We have gotten to be part of an amazing group who have helped our son grow into an amazing young athlete and even more importantly a confident and strong person. We have travelled around the World for tournaments as part of the Canadian Team and got to see our son stand on the podium at a World Championship and hold the Canadian flag, they helped him become the Top Junior Male at the 2018 Nation Championships, and Canadian Champion in 2019 as an adult competitor in Special Technique, without the guidance and support from Mr Cabanas and Ms Perry this would not have been possible. The success rate of Arcan Students at Local, Regional, National, and International competitions; highlights the incredible programs offered at Arcan, and the high level of instruction that makes Arcan the best Taekwon-Do school not only in Ottawa but all of Canada. We look forward to many more years of continued developement and success as part of Arcan Taekwon-Do.

Our experience with ARCAN Taekwon-Do has been truly remarkable since day one when my son was warmly welcomed for a free trial class back in 2018. For a 14 years old boy to stay motivated in playing sport is not easy, but almost a year and half later, he still enjoys every class! As parents, we are so proud to see his progress which is all owed to his instructors, Ms. Perry and Mr. Cabanas. My son has been a member at ARCAN since 2016. He absolutely loves attending the classes and training under Mr. Cabanas and Ms Perry and all the other highly qualified instructors. It is a very friendly and welcoming environment and open to all ages and skill levels. Mr C and Ms Perry are very positive, encouraging and motivating instructors. They are world class competitors and their knowledge and expertise in taekwondo is first rate. Not only has my son learned techniques in taekwondo and self defence but he has also increased his fitness level, self confidence and discipline. I would highly recommend ARCAN!!

This definitely is the most organized taekwondo school with high quality teaching techniques in town. The admins replied to any emails and phone calls fast, accurate and with detailed- oriented information.The school is clean, well- maintained and have lots of parking space available. Instructors know what they are doing and paid very close attention to their students individually. They will fix your children missing steps or patterns while keeping them engaged in learning new skills.Overall, this place is worth every penny. Great for kids and adults. We are very lucky to have found this place!

Ms. Perry and Mr. Cabanas are excelent, caring and dedicated instructors. ARCAN TKD is a family oriented business with a variety of programs. Their facilities are impecable, well maintained and they are always buying new equipment. I highly recommend their academy.

I joined ARCAN Taekwon-Do 3 years ago, coming from a dance background. When I started, I was nervous thinking that I would be judged as a beginner, but I couldn't be more wrong. The team at ARCAN was welcoming, patient and supportive. It is a safe environment that allowed me to grow and learn. Today, I am a red belt having competed at numerous tournaments across the country. Thanks to the guidance of my instructors at ARCAN I have become a stronger, healthier version of myself. As a teenage girl, joining ARCAN has taught me to defend myself, have confidence and adopt a healthier lifestyle. I strongly recommend ARCAN Taekwon-Do. Whether your goal is to practice self-defense skills, work towards receiving your black belt, or just want to try something new, ARCAN is the place to go!

I am a mother of three and have been a member of Arcan since 2010. We have a fun group of students, parents and instructors. Mr. Cabanas is an excellent instructor and coach, and takes time to help each and every student reach their full potential. Whether you are simply looking for a fun way to get in shape/meet new people/learn self-defence or want to compete locally, nationally or internationally, this is a great martial arts school. I like the variety of activities we do in class, such as fitness, self-defence, sparring and board-breaking, to name a few. I especially love that I can practise taekwon-do with my kids. It is a great activity for the whole family no matter your age or fitness level.

My son and I have been members for almost 4 years now. Mr C and Miss Perry are excellent instructors their knowledge and deliverance of that knowledge is always done so the student understands. This dojang has world class athletes and beginners from 4 - 65 years old. Mr C is very patient with students yet at the same time firm. The new student learns the basic principles of Taekwon-Do and is always encouraged to progress at their own pace. Its a very family friendly dojang and we are fortunate to have world class instructors. I highly recommend this Dojang to any person interested in WTF taekwon-do

Our experience with ARCAN has been nothing but the Best!! Our two kids attend TKD twice a week and they Love it! Mr. Cabanas and Ms.Perry are outstanding instructors, teaching the kids discipline, respect and self confidence. Ms. Perry is also a personal trainer, and trains me a couple days a week. I have never felt better! She motivates me to push myself and helps me accomplish my goals. I know we will be with the ARCAN family for many more years!!
