Had a great experience in Ascent’s intro to rock climbing course! Phil was a patient, encouraging and articulate instructor.This course is great for total beginners, as well as for those who have done some climbing but would like to be more independent - I learned SO MUCH, and know that I can confidently take myself out to climb this summer!

Did my AST 1 through Ascent. The instructors were very knowledgeable about snow science. It was great having 2 instructors for a small size group of only 8 of us. I met some great friends who are still my backcountry partners today. If you're looking to learn and connect with like minded people in the backcountry an AST course is a great way to do it!

I completed Intro to Rock Climbing this past weekend and had a wonderful time learning and testing out skills. Phil was an attentive, creative, and well-spoken teacher/guide/professional. Safety was the number one priority. I’ve encountered numerous outdoor educators and Phil is one of the best I’ve encountered. His kind-natured demeanor, patience and adaptability in his own teaching techniques shined through to create a comfortable and enjoyable learning environment.The company as a whole demonstrated safety as their priority and it was clear they are a passionate, thoughtful and friendly crew. They showed in their brief appearance at the course they truly care who they hire and about their participants experience. I corresponded with the company prior to the course and all emails were replied to promptly and questions were encouraged. I would have no hesitation in booking another course with Ascent and plan to recommend them to everyone I meet!

Went on a crevasse rescue training trip with ascent as well as completed my AST 1 with them. Guides were personable and knowledgable and helped me build my knowledge for mountain safety.

Great group of guys to head into the mountains with, super knowledgeable and safe. Their guides have years of experience in their fields. There guides aren’t just the jack-of-all types, their masters of the sport. Wether it’s packrafting, paragliding, rock climbing or just hiking Mt. Cheam you will not only experience your adventure but also learn how to do it in a safe, sustainable, tread lightly manner. I would recommend anyone of the guides to anyone who was looking for a true adventure in the Fraser Valley. I always have great time with them. So glad I was able to get one of the cold days ice climbing with them. Looking forward to packraft season and taking my swift water course with them!

Paragliding with Ascent was a fantastic experience. They provided a very experienced pilot that I felt safe with and allowed me to just enjoy the ride! Highly recommended!

I reached out to Sam at Ascent FV Guides to discuss my long-time dream of running off the side of a mountain and soaring over the valley. He was so kind, helpful and reassuring and, to my surprise, informed me that they are able to do tandems with children eight years and older. And so, our family of six (kids aged 8, 9, 11 and 14) were able to share the experience of paragliding all together on a day that we'll be talking about for decades to come.Throughout the planning process, Kendrae (the administrator) was very responsive and helpful and Kevin Ault (who organized the flight) paid close attention to the forecasted winds and weather conditions, and adjusted our flight time accordingly. When the day came, Kevin, Brad and Tonya were so kind and reassuring to our young kids, and perfectly balanced this with a precise professionalism that gave us (the parents) full confidence.As to the experience, a gentle run down a slope, followed by weightless feet, and then we were soaring above the eagles. We were given the option to pilot the paraglider under the close watchfulness of the pilot until the flight came to an end and we touched down lightly on the field. Magical...and our kids haven't stopped talking about it since.Thanks for making our dreams of flight come true!
