Movie World

This store is a nice find! it is like travelling to the past, when people used to go to a physical store to rent movies every weekend to entertain the whole family. The store has a good selection of movies for rent and sale; staff was friendly and helpful. If you want to check it out; it is located in Stony Plain town.

Movie World is my favourite place in Stony Plain. The nostalgia, the smell of popcorn, the great movies and the wonderful owner Joe are all fantastic reasons to stop in. I loved visiting Movie World as a kid and am stoked to be able to take my daughter there. Looking forward to many more years wandering the aisles, grabbing movies & snacks and chatting it up with Joe and Ashleigh!

Great selection of classic, cult, and new movies in 4K. They even carry VHS. The prices are great. This place is a true gem of a real, authentic video rental store, and worth the trip just outside of Edmonton. Worth making the visit. Will be back.

Great place to get all your movies that you could rent or buy at a cheap price. The staff is very friendly and is more then willing to help. They also put away and take requests for orders and I found them very very helpful. I highly recommend it to anyone that's a movie buff like myself!

Great place that still exits from my childhood. Tons of great movies (new and old) to browse for rental and purchase wirh really friendly staff who just love to talk movies.

Movie World is a really neat place. It’s a hidden gem in that deserves a visit for the nostalgic or if your looking for new movie to watch.The movies are really current with the new releases and are reasonable priced to rent. They are the same movies as you would see on Telus and Are WAY cheaper than the theatre, especially if you are in a budget.They offer a great range and new and “catalogued” videos. They even offer VHS videos if you are so inclined. They even provide a free bag of popcorn when you start up a new account with them.The store was clean and had really great friendly staff. If you are in a bit of a hurry they even offer snack choices for your family movie night or if your just feeling snacks.Definitely Stop in here for sure!

So thrilled to have found a movie rental place!!! This is awesome!! We are super excited to get back to our hotel (home away from home for the next month) and relax with some new movies!!! It was a pleasure to meet Joe and we really appreciated his recommendations!

When you go for a date night in the city and you find a Lost Gem!! Such nostalgia combing thru physical movies in the store, we each picked 5 that took us back"! And they are so friendly!!"

Been coming here for years now! Sean was a great owner, very friendly and that man was knowledgeable. Then along came new owner Joe....this guy is the best, I spend hours in this shop. The atmosphere is always welcoming, fun and Joe and his team are just the best in the business! Keeping nostalgia alive and just can't get enough of this place. You must bring the family, let the kids see a real movie rental store and true movie buffs at their finest! Literally my favorite place to go and recommend to absolutely everyone!

One of the only places still doing movie rentals! They have a very extensive collection, and fair prices for both renting and buying. They also sell box sets, video games, collectors items, etc. The owner is very helpful and kind. A must-visit spot for any movie nerd!
