Worst experience ever possible. Laureen Harcourt is a despicable old selfish woman. The Grande Prairie and District SPCA is not for the proper rehoming of animals but for making absolutely certain family-animals are removed from their owners and are never given back. DO NOT ADOPT. DO NOT DONATE. Not until new management takes effect. She is a former aadac councelor" not a licensed veterinarian. I know numerous people who have had the worst experience working with her/dealing with her. HORRIBLE PEOPLE. THE WORST."Now that you went to the media youre NEVER getting your stupid cat back!" hangup.I will despise her until the day I die."

I love my SPCA dogs. The staff is great. Helped me pick my perfect forever pets. Dixie ( dog ) was adopted 3 years old when she was 6 years old. She was house trained , obedient , walked well with a leash. She is love her cuddles. She's now 9 years old. Emma ( dog) was adopted 4 years old. Emma's loveable and sweet. Grunts when she really happy. Thank Grande prairie SPCA for helping us find our forever pets.

My experiences with the GP SPCA have been nothing short of atrocious. The way that they handle some of there cases are just plane out unacceptable. They double adopt pets and then judge adopters on a scale of who's got more money than the other and they seem to charge one person more than another. This I know for sure as I went to enquirer about the same dog twice, the second time disguised and totally unrecognised and found the character I played the role of having a totally disposable income got the dog at a higher price than the more responsible modest character that was promised the same dog the day earlier. I don't blame the SPCA organisation , I blame the shallow inconsistent greedy and of low character and I mean lower than a caterpillars skate board staff.

I recently adopted the most amazing dog at the spca in Grande prairie. When I adopted her I was told she needed to be on a wait list to be spayed. One week passed and still no progress so I asked if we could bring her home while she waits on the list. I was very happy when they responded yes. Almost 3 weeks passed until I heard from them. They called me and said they had an appointment for her the following day. They said they would drop her off and I requested to pick her up from the vet after work because I was paying the vet extra to get her rabies shot and wanted to go in and pay. I dropped my dog off at the spca that morning and told the girl that I would pick her up from the vet. Later that day I received a call saying someone from there staff was on there way to pick up my dog. I then explained how I was supposed to get her and there was ALOT of confusion. I then went to the spca to pick up my dog and they said everything went great. The following day everything seemed fine, the day after that however things started to change. My dog was throwing up constantly to the point she was throwing up blood clots at 1 am. I called the emergency vet In the middle of the night and he said he would see her at 8 am the following day. After a few hours of blood test and different things the poor vet at the animal hospital could not figure out what was wrong with her. We paid a large vet bill and he gave her some anti nausea pills. The following Monday we had a post operative appointment at the vet she got spayed at. When we got her in the room the vet said this dog had a huge surgery
