Very cool park. I had no idea how large it is, until you drive the circle and then decide where you want to park. The waterfront trail is designed to be one-way for cyclists, scooters, rollerbladers. The entire waterfront trail is paved along the lower level, a great place to see the amazing coast line views, and there are countless trails all across the elevated/main part of the park with old forest growth native to the area.A must see, best done on a decent bicycle as there are 27 kilometres of trails if you want to see it all. It’s called a “temperate zone coastal rainforest”. Very unique if you’re not from around here. You’ll see big wide trunked trees, including Western Hemlock, 200+ year old western red cedar & 150 foot Douglas fir. There’s actually a 700 year old western red cedar stump in this park among lots of other amazing trees and old growth. I’m coming back here with a bicycle next time.
