The Restaurant at The Saltspring Inn
Stopped by for a quick lunch before heading back home. We told our hostess we only had 30-45 minutes before we had to catch the ferry and she really helped! She made sure we got served fast, and was really attentive in helping us check the clock for the time!Food itself was hearty and satisfying. The benedicts were filling and made for a solid meal before heading onto the ferry!

Over an hour wait for burgers, a salad and prawns at 5:45pm on a Friday. Fries were stale and chicken burger was not good.

Great restaurant! We stayed in the Inn above the restaurant, so we went here 3 times over the weekend: once for drinks, once for dinner and once for breakfast. The staff are all friendly and the service is great. The food is excellent. Made with care and very tasty! Much of the items are made with local ingredients, too.

Really great lunch today. I had the crispy chicken burger and it was bursting with flavour. My spouse had the Black Forrest omelette special which came with potatoes, toast, and homemade blackberry jam.The restrooms are impressive and super clean. The restaurant is really well maintained.Great service overall.

We sat outside and were supplied blankets. Our meals were delicious and the prices typical. A very nice place to eat. Our male waiter was very friendly.

Nice location in the centre of town, clean restaurant and very friendly staff. Our only disappointment was the portion size of the nachos - for $20 we were expecting a large plate of nachos like we’d get in Vancouver, but alas it was much smaller.

Ordered their lunch feature- $15 ham & cheese sandwich + black bean soup, and their $18 cod fish burger. It took a while for our order to be taken and after waiting slightly over half an hr for the food, we were so hungry and wolfing the food down before I realized wait, why is my burger so spicy? Turns out the server misheard my order and gave me the $21/$22? crispy chicken burger (the chicken itself was actually nice but 1) it was spicy so not enjoyable for my weak taste buds and 2) wasn’t a very substantial piece of chicken). The sandwich and soup were also quite sub par.In all fairness, I appreciated that the server listened to my notes of not wanting onions or tomatoes and that she was very nice and apologetic about the mistake, even discounting the whole burger after. And maybe they were also short staffed that day? Not sure.Overall mixed feelings. We were looking forward to this based on other reviews but couldn’t be as happy with what we ended up with. It wasn’t the worst experience and we were still grateful for the server’s excellent attitude in handling an issue but personally hard to come away recommending this restaurant as a whole to anyone else.

Great place for lunch, I got the vegetarian omelette and my boyfriend got a chicken sandwich. The service was great, I recommend this restaurant and for sure will be back

We took a day trip from Gabriola and found ourselves here and it was amazing. The server Salem was personable and efficient. We were served fresh yummy food and drinks quickly. If you’re going to Saltspring this is one of the places I would suggest you eat!

Good food and great service! Had the beef cheeseburger with half fries and salad. Server was great, comfortable tables and seats.
