Sculption School of Pottery

I had a wonderful experience taking pottery classes with Sally. Sally is a an encouraging mentor who gives loads of helpful advice but also is “hands-off” to allow her students to gain all skills themselves. She creates an inviting atmosphere in the pottery studio and I’m looking forward to taking another course with Sally!

I’ve taken 2 classes and 1 private class with Sally and she runs an incredible studio and is a great teacher! I cannot recommend her and her classes enough!

An exceptionally talented potter whose expertise and inexhaustible patience made my experience in ‘Pottery 102’ the most enjoyable I have ever had. Sally’s teaching and direction turned my pottery from misshapen doughnuts of clay into bowls and mugs which I could use in my day to day. Never a dull moment, Sally’s wit and charm keep you laughing and chatting for hours, and before you know it you’ve made 10 pots and the sun has gone down. The studio is large and full of inspiring pieces of art, created both by her students as well as herself. Any price paid for one of her classes is a bargain for everything Sally has to offer!

Excited to take a second course here! The first one was wonderful. It's a friendly environment, with the right amount of hands on instruction from Sally and also a good amount of time to just practice.Sally tailored her instructions to each person's level of experience and paid attention to our progress. Also she is very organized and the open studio time model is an excellent addition to the scheduled classes.

I recently completed a beginners hand building and wheel class on Monday evenings and really enjoyed it. Sally is super knowledgeable and a great teacher. She is able to give direction to all abilities and experiences, making it easier for people just getting started but also differentiating for returning potters. She switches things up every evening and encourages you to come to classes with ideas. Highly recommend if you’re looking for ceramic classes locally. I will be back in the new year.

Great class and good value for money. I learned a lot and came away from the class with many functional pieces (even if I wasn't super successful at wheel-throwing). Sally was approachable and very helpful with answering additional questions and providing advice about how to approach the self-directed project ideas portion. Additional kiln space was a good deal, since I made more than 1-ft worth of stuff. Having taken many art classes with similar studio/instruction time, pottery 101 was a lot of fun and I learned a lot for the short amount of time.

Sally is a wonderful teacher and takes the time to make sure you master the basics before moving on. The class sizes are small so you get lots on individual support to help you level up. Sally helped me improve my centering and showed us fun projects appropriate for our skill level. You'll have a great time at her studio!

About to sign up for my third class with Sally and I couldn't recommend her classes more! She's an amazing teacher and person! I was able to learn pottery so quickly because of her easy to learn teaching style, and class time was always a fun and relaxing atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!

I just finished the 6 week pottery 102 class and all I can say is wow! Sally is a wealth of knowledge and has created the most inviting and fun learning environment. The time at the wheel flew by and Sally was very attentive to the needs of each student - both when extra help was required but also to cheer on the more advanced learners and provide them with a challenge.I can't wait to attend again in the future.

I have taken several classes with Sally at Sculption Pottery Studio and plan to take more. Sally is a phenomenal instructor who takes time to help her students achieve their personal best. Whether you are new to pottery or an intermediate/advanced student, Sally will ensure you get the most out of your course and have fun along the way. Although you're in a class with others, Sally makes sure each student has some one-on-one time and some customized learning depending on their needs/interests. As someone who has taken several pottery studios, I have also found Sculption's pricing to be incredibly good value. I would highly recommend this studio to anyone looking for a comfortable, positive learning environment where your creativity can thrive!
