Never recommend this shop to anyone. Price for checking an engine light is $750

Stop n Steer away from this place.I went in order to get a safety completed on a vehicle I had recently purchased; I knew it wasn’t unlikely to expect a few repairs, but I was shocked when they presented the list.Some of the items they informed me were in need of repair for my vehicle to pass a safety included a blower fan motor, serpentine belt, and front lower control arm.These repairs seemed odd to me for a few reasons. First of all, the blower fan was functioning and from my research as long as it kept the glass from fogging and kept an unobstructed view then there was no concern. I had just driven the vehicle 15 hours without issue through storms and -20 temps…so I assumed that would suffice. This apparently is not the case, it “sounds like it was about to die” and must be replaced. Interesting.The serpentine belt was also an interesting suggestion, as there was no noises or whining coming from the belt or pulleys, as well as no visible damage or slack in the belt.Lastly, the front control arm and ball joint replacement seemed suspect as the vehicle had actually just had the drivers side lower control arm and ball joint replaced 4 days prior, with a front and rear alignment competed following. I specifically had the suspension checked over prior to driving the vehicle such a lengthy trip and had damaged components replaced. It seemed very odd to me that this was not an issue identified by the previous shop, and as it turned out would not be an issue found by the shop I went to after Stop n Steer.Anyways, I had my safety done elsewhere and as expected I had to do a few small repairs but they were negligible in comparison to the absurd list produced by these folks. I would recommend you keep yourself and your vehicle away from this shop.

Passing through Thunderbay and had exhaust and etc issues with my motorhome. Called a bunch of mechanics, all full, and Chris was able to take us in just a couple days. He was a straight forward guy and was an amazing help! Great service and price. Motorhome running great thanks to Graham as well, lovely staff. Other clients were raving about them as well. Definitely recommend!

The shop and the guys were great. I had a breakdown and have my truck towed in at about 9 AM. Because I was traveling through town, they made some scheduling changes and got me in very quickly. My wheel bearing hub had blown apart along with the CV joint halfshaft and damaged the brake caliper as well. They had me in and out in just a couple hours. Fair prices, considering the high quality parts they put in. Definitely saved my trip. Highly recommend them.

Amazing experience. Dealt with Chris yesterday. Ran diagnostics, fixed wiring issues as my car wouldnt start, did a full oil change, replaced burnt out light and replaced a power steering hose in about 3 hours. All of that for less than half of what it would have cost lakehead just to tell me what was wrong. Chris was amazing, the work was great, was done really fast and the pricing was amazing. Highly recommend them to anyone.

i scanned my truck showed codes p0171 and p0174 brought it to them told them the codes i scanned dropped it off Monday after 4 they had it till Wednesday after 4 said they did over 3 hrs to check for air leaks smoke test and 3 test drives scanned again and changed the air filter after one day check engine light came back on asked what my bill was so far $553 . Friday i sprayed my Mass air flow sensor put in a can of seafoam in the gas tank been running great since at least i get to enjoy my $553 air filter never see my face back there again.

I brought jeep for alignment. Went on rack and looked at for less than 5 minutes. I was told I needed a part / tie rod end driver side ( I had to research and find myself ) job couldn't be completed until I found the parts so I left ( after being billed for an inspection ) I got my parts and installed them. Went to another shop and was told I needed tie rod end passenger side and a steering shaft. So I got charged for an inspection that was NEVER done.Id rate them .25 of a star if I could

The best place in town to have work done on your vehicle. I've been bringing my vehicles to Stop'N Steer shops for the past 7 years, and have never been disappointed. The staff will work with your budget and go above and beyond to get you back on the road as soon as possible.I've recommended Stop N' Steer to about a dozen friends, and all have come away happy. You can't put a price on an honest mechanic.
