Brooke Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services (Animals in Transition)
I'll be forever grateful for Dr. Budgeon and her services. When I had to make the very difficult decision of putting my elderly cat to rest, I did not like the idea of bringing him into a cold, clinical setting of the vets office, a place he always became very stressed out to go to. After my vet recommended Brooke Mobile Vet Hospice, I was able to speak with Dr. Budgeon quickly about our situation. She was very empathic about the difficult decision I had to make and listened to my concerns, even while I cried on the phone the entire time. She gave me details on the process of at home euthanasia and options on burial vs. cremation. She gave me a few days to consider everything and I never felt rushed or pressured into anything. When the day finally came, Dr. Budgeon arrived and was extremely professional, warm and genuinely sympathetic throughout the entire process. She explained things step by step before the process even began and we were able to take things slowly at my own pace. She allowed us time with our pet between stages to comfort him and say goodbye without feeling rushed. She excused her self from the room during those times as well. She was very gentle and courteous to our little guy during the injections. Knowing that he was relaxed, surrounded by loved ones, comfortable at home and calm for the entire process made all the difference. There was absolutely no signs of stress or agitation by him and I believe that he passed in complete peace. After confirmation of his passing she quickly and quietly let herself out and we were able to grieve privately.If/when the time comes for you to have to make this difficult decision for your pet, I couldn't recommend her services more. Every pet deserves to have a good-bye as peaceful and loved as the experience she was able to give to our little guy. (It was also less stressful on us, getting to be in the comfort of our home.) She made a terrible day, the best I could have ever asked for (under the circumstances).Thank you so very much Dr. Budgeon.
