We tried Shinka Sushi Bar for the first time today. There’s no dine-in, only take out and delivery. We ordered edamame, carpaccio mix (6 pcs), california maki (6 pcs), dynamite maki (6 pcs), and osaka maki (6 pcs) for two people. The food tasted and looked fresh. Nothing smelled or tasted weird at all. Sauces were very good too. Everything was well-packed and properly secured. 3/5 because portions and prices could be better.Note: New address is 2900 Sheffield Road.

From the packaging to the presentation to the flavour - this place delivers on all grounds!It was our first time ordering from here (take out) and we had friendly service and the food was delicious! We also loved how they provide the soy sauce in separate little containers unlike other places that give you the little cheap packets. Definitely going to be our go to place for sushi in the downtown core!

I ordered using UberEats. I often eat sushi around here and this sushi isn’t the greatest. The rice is thinner than expected. They fully load on avocado to save money, making each roll about 60-70% avocado. This ruins both the texture and taste of many of their rolls. All this for a premium price. I am very disappointed.

This is the best sushi in Ottawa. Been a customer of theirs since before the pandemic and my stance still stands. Although I mostly order out, the presentation and care they take of the food hasn’t wavered. The price is higher than most, but it’s well worth it. The sushi is fresh, flavourful & the pieces (especially the unagi) are generous.The Tsunami roll and agadashi tofu are hands down my favourite dishes on the menu.Would highly recommend!

I ordered takeout from Shinka Sushi, and it was some of the best sushi I've ever had. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming when I arrived to pick up my order.The sushi itself was absolutely delicious - each piece was expertly crafted and bursting with flavor. The attention to detail that went into the packaging kept the sushi fresh and intact during transport.The whole process was seamless, from ordering online to picking up my food. The staff fulfilled my order quickly, and everything was ready to go when I arrived.Overall, I highly recommend Shinka sushi for their fantastic takeout service. The high quality of the food and service made me feel like I was getting the full restaurant experience. I'll definitely be ordering from them again!

Ordered a pick-up order for my brother's going away party. Only missing one star because the unavailable gluten free items were still available on the website but not in restaurant. But when we arrived the substitutions were fair and easy. The sushi was the freshest quality I've had in Ottawa since Festival Japan in the 90's before it went under new management in the aughts. If there was an option for half stars it definitely would have been 4.5. We'll be ordering from here on the next special occasion and I'm hoping I can update this review to add the last star.

We ordered 4 rolls and carpaccio. The sushi was very fresh, however the rolls kept falling apart when we tried to take them out of box (they stuck to box), and pricing was on the higher side (typically same pricing but you get less pieces here .. so typically at this price you’d get 8pcs but here you get only 6). Overall tasty but on the higher end for price.

For those of us without a deathly shellfish allergy, the food was quite good. This isn't a complaint against the food, because it was in fact delicious. But they almost killed my friend.If not for my friend's girlfriend checking her tuna poke bowl before my friend took a bite of his, we would not have noticed the UNLISTED INGREDIENT in their poke bowls until it was too late.We are not oblivious in ordering food, and are certainly aware that cross contamination can happen. But without a disclaimer saying the sushi chef might just willy-nilly throw in crab into a poke bowl without warning, we didn't think it necessary to point out the allergy, because this is a particularly deadly allergy for those who have it and we always check the ingredients before ordering anything.When called to confirm the ingredients in the bowls, we spoke to the manager who was absolutely unapologetic. We did not ask for reimbursement, or for them to send us a dish without crab. Recognition of their careless ingredient listings on their website would have sufficed, but the manager was more concerned with framing it in such a way as it wasn't at all their fault.To that point: if you put crab in your bowls then SAY SO! This is completely unacceptable, and the manager should know this or be made to understand. You almost killed my friend. Do better.

While I appreciate all the vegan options, the value isn’t there. This box does not contain $85 worth of sushi. The Kinoko tasted like nothing and was messy to eat, really disappointing. The Inari was $9 for 2 pieces. We honestly could not believe it when we realized our order was this tiny box.

This take-out/delivery only kitchen produces a tasty selection of sushi out of their location in an industrial park.Good selection, good taste. If you’re not looking for sit down service this is recommended.
