Merrickville Public Beach

A quiet beach which is hardly visited by anyone. It is located in a quaint town of Merrickville. But if you enjoy just sitting by yourself or with your partner and have lunch then this is the place. Hardly any visitors and very quiet.

Had fun fishing near the park on the water. Great quiet and clean beach.

Great place to swim and kayak.

Beautiful view of the Rideau river for all the family. You can also put very small boats to the river.

I like this beach, is small quiet, not so deep, perfect for children 0 - 10 years old. The only bad thing about it is there are sharp rocks by the dock, best thing is to use beach shoes.

First, it's free so if you don't like it, or the weather changes, it is easy enough to leave and not feel bad about it. The beach is also not very clean in terms of the sand given the contributions of the geese that seem to come by when everyone leaves for the day. There are some nicer shades areas of grass that might be preferable. Having said all that, very convenient location for those south of the city and usually pretty quiet which is good as it is relatively small. Also great for little ones who can move about safely in the water which very gradually gets deeper to the jump raft for bigger kids. Water quality is usually pretty good as well.

We travelled with some energetic younger family members. They loved this beach. It was not crowded when we were there and lots of clean sand. Warm sun, clean water and fun sand. Everything we wanted.

Great place to go with the kids on a hot summer day! There are bathrooms available and a big fun park for the kids. Great place to launch Ur boat and to fish to. Have a great summer guys! :)

Nice little beach but water area needs cleaning, blue algae in water.

Very limited beach, only suitable for playing in the morning, otherwise your location can only be sunbathing on the shore. The decaying water plants clumped in the river. With the geese who often visit in the water, the scenery is also very natural, but you need to pay attention to the goose dung under your feet. Despise people who take dogs for bathing in the river, because dogs are forbidden here.
