Toronto Public Library - Eatonville Branch

Probably the worst library I have visited. Staff and patrons are ridiculously loud. They all talk as if they were at a party. As a result, there is no opportunity for quiet study. Rather than containing the noise, staff contributes to it. They carry on conversations about anything but their jobs. When asked for assistance they are abrupt and rude. They only seem interested in collecting a pay check with the least amount of effort...pretty much on par with many public sector workers. There are much better libraries to visit.

Lovely and wonderful staff. Functional library with books easily and readily available for borrow. Can use online portal to check the availability of the books and hold it.

Visited on a Friday afternoon. It was fairly crowded with very few seats left. Some 4 person tables only had two chairs! I was there for about 30 min. and felt it was quite enough.I was disappointed at the selection of books in the Canadian history section. There's a lot of room as only half of the shelves are full.

Great staff members.Washrooms are stinky at times; best to avoid.

Eatonville is easily accessible by public transit (both TTC and MiWay) with decent bike parking behind the library. I have spent many an evening doing homework here, and honestly, I love it. It's fun to see the library slowly fill up as exams approach, and there's a palpable sense of camaraderie amongst the students as we stress out together. But maybe I am just a nerd. I would recommend bringing a pair of headphones, or just being very good at spacing out, as students sometimes work on group projects here and it can become a tad noisy, but it's never too bad. The staff is always incredibly kind, and they were especially warm to me when I was a little kid. They also almost always have a book sale going on (near the front), with books, magazines, digital media, etc. This place is my home, and hopefully, it'll be yours, too!

I love Eatonville Branch! It's so beautiful exterior and interior with hundreds of books in neatly maintained bookshelves, including categories and genres of all kinds! I receive and return books here every once in a while using holds, and it's a wonderful experience coming to this library. I am always overjoyed when I step into it. A lovely cosy feel with many people studying with laptops, reading books, or having a drink!

this is a nice branch, especially the architectural design

Pros: Nice library, many windows and access to sunlight.Cons: Noisy and one crazy and arrogant old lady who is working there(it's obvious she only wants the paycheck while doing a minimum of work, she should go to retirement)
