A cafe in a bookstore, just what an avid reader wants. We had a great experience, our vaccine cards and I’d very checked by a smiling hostess who escorted us inside. The tables were clean and the menu had something for everyone. It was well plated and tasty. Enjoyed my salmon sandwich with fries. The server was friendly, I gave it one star less as they were out of a lot of desserts at lunch time, definitely a disappointment for me. My sister had the apple cobbler, she loved it.she took it warm with ice cream along , was a huge helping , three of us took a few bites each to finish it.We also tried their smoothie , it was well balanced and just the right consistency, served in a nice talk glass. The soup and salad combos are very attractively priced and the helping is pretty decent. The Greek salad was fresh and looked healthy. Would definitely recommend this for those looking for healthy options.Post lunch we ordered Americano too , once again were impressed with the glass used for it . 5 stars for that. Did not take pics of the cafe and display case , left it for our next visit.Would love to see there display case full , I guess with city opening this too shall happen. I’m surely going to come again and try out more salads and desserts .

As always, a great place. Went to celebrate my son's birthday, tuesday evening about 6:30. I was very surprised at how busy. Walking needed 20 to 30 minutes wait. By 7:30 it had cleared out though, so it was a real supper cloudTried the potato and celery soup, which was really nice, good taste and nice texture, I had the little cup, about 6 oz, and would cheerfully had a full bowlful for supper but I was trying the wild mushroom ravioli as a main. That was really good. Nice portion and wonderful flavour. Highly recommended.I include some pictures of the pastry counter, all of it delicious, although a tad calorie rich I'm afraid

I came here for breakfast. I wasn't disappointed. First time eating here not sure what to expect, but let me tell you it was worth it. Limited menu but well rounded. Something for everyone one. If you have food allergies, this restaurant can serve you. The wait staff we kind, polite and nice. Plenty of natural light and space. The amount of food based on price was perfect. The only issue I had was the potatoe hashbrowns were a little under cooked. I had their New York Style Cheesecake for dessert. It was a large piece. It took me a little while to eat.It was worth the money spent. I would highly recommend visiting this establishment for breakfast, lunch, dinner or even coffee and dessert. Also, at no point did I feel rushed to leave. I was able to take my time and enjoy what I was eating.

Very unique dining area as it’s attached to the book store. Makes some pretty delicious baked confections. The menu is small and more targeted at the lunch crowd. Very earthy vibe with the menu and it will not please everyone. I’ve noticed it’s a very popular spot with the senior crowd. Probably just indicates healthy food with a good price point. A great place to stop and have lunch after picking up some books or doing some shopping at grant park mall. Do not sleep on the baked goods!

Recently went here for lunch with my boyfriend on a Sunday. Though I was grateful that they found a non reserved spot for us during a moderately busy lunch time, it was in a cramped corner at a small table. I would have preferred they have us wait for the next spot since there was no one after us waiting. The restaurant seemed bright and cheerful but we didn't get to enjoy it being in the corner. My boyfriend had the beef noodle bowl, which he said was good but not great. I had the peanut soup and salmon sandwich with the mango salsa on the side. The sandwich flavours were good but I was disappointed with the portion of salmon. The salsa was slightly sweet but bland, it lacked an acid like lemon or lime, and needed a pinch of salt. I ended up adding it to the soup to help improve the soup's taste. For dessert, we had a slice of chocolate fudge cake which was surprising not great. It had the fudge part right but lacked a good chocolate flavour. I'd probably go back, I'd just try completely different things.

Best server Carlos. He only works on Saturdays though. It's a beautiful space with the majority of the dining area in a partial atrium. They have a number of vegan options which is great for when I go with my vegan friends. We did try the spaghetti squash and it was very good. The bison burger patty was enormous. They know how to make their food look fantastic and very instagramable. It came with a side. My friend chose soup but that was the only non memorable item. It wasn't bad, but everything else was amazing. The desserts are all made in house. Our picks were the salted caramel tart and the blueberry mousse cheesecake. Both were exceptionally tasty. I'm more into fruit but I found myself going for that caramel. It's very nicely doneIt's very convenient to have dinner or dessert there then head to the movie. (Or vice versa)Parking is available in a huge lot as it is part of the grant park shopping center, inside the McNally Robinson.

Very pleasant atmosphere and a creative menu. Food was delicious and well presented. We had Roasted Vegetable Sandwich, Margherita Pizza and a kids mac and cheese.....all were very good. A great place for lunch.

Overall a decent experience with really cool location and good food. Pasta was something different I haven't had else where. It was oil based and flavourful with super healthy ingredients. Usually healthy and delicious doesn't go well together but I loved the pasta. I was also very impressed with their fries and dessert. Only thing that was so so was the Philly steak. It's nice to have a restaurant inside the bookstore which would make waiting for a table not so boring, although we got our tables right away. Parking is very easy as it is located in the grant shopping mall.

Took my boyfriend here for a date so he could experience the food, it's now become a favorite of ours to frequent. The food is delish, the staff are friendly and the wait timez ain't bad. They even have good gf options (although if proper celiac be careful but they warn u). Been here a few times and I've never had a bad meal. The produce is always fresh and the food is farmers Market fresh, hand picked carefully and prepared fresh. Def recommend it

Front of house service is extremely rude.I went to go grab an iced drink on my lunch and the lady in front of me in line was waiting for a period of time while the guy at the front was chatting with other workers until she had to say “hello?” Once she was taken care of, I walked up and asked for a suggestion on iced drinks with no caffeine. He proceeded to list off a couple of things sounding very disinterested, and then interrupted my response to continue talking to other front desk workers. As I was waiting for my drink, he and another girl working started chatting and she proceeded to look me up and down. I felt extremely uncomfortable. Please teach basic customer service knowledge to your front of house workers as they are the face of your establishment and it’s extremely unfriendly at the moment.
