The crisis worker I spoke to had no real referrals, resources, ideas, or solutions to offer, just going to the hospital or calling some other agency. She wouldn't stop interrupting me or talking over me. I spent a lot of time explaining the complicated situation I'm in, and why I was asking for certain kinds of help. She didn't adjust her approach because of that; she didn't retain the information I told her. Eventually she just got annoyed at me and threatened to call in a wellness check and send cops unless I did what she said.I would not suggest ever calling here. Especially if you're racialized. This crisis worker didn't help me, and she actively threatened to put me in danger because I didn't agree her answer was the right answer for me.

Horrible place!! A joke! People calling this distress centre will have people leave in more distress or killing themselves. Awful experience in two different occasions. Please people do not call this place if you are in distress. I would give a FAT ZERO if they had this option on reviews.

The crisis worker I spoke to was mansplaining me. He was condescending and fact checking my statements. He also shared his wild theory in relation to the reason of my call. He spoke more than me, and I listened more than him. I felt like he has the need to win the conversation. Poorly trained, I didnt feel better after the call.

Frankly, shut the whole thing down. Everything from the management of the facility to the crisis workers. All of it. If you’re feeling suicidal, call or text TalkSuicide. Google their number and save it in your phone contacts for emergencies. It’s a Canada wide service and has people who answer that are actually trained on what to do in a crisis.

At times, I have honestly become even more distressed after speaking with them (especially with the Evening Staff). Many of them are so opinionated that they will debate and criticize me for expressing my feelings. This makes their Crisis Counselling Services rather counterproductive because I feel more animosity than true compassion from their Staff. I have called the Supervisor no fewer than 5 times to complain.

I went there 2years past and it was the best short stay experience of my life.Better than a vacation in Jamaica. The staff are great listeners with up to date information, and fun to be around with a laid back talk and I'll help attitude. I didn't want to leave when my time came for me to go. I felt great and was refreshed and mentally, emotionally capable to go on with my life. Thank to the staff and supporters of this magical place in the city.

When I called it was quite late and the man I talked to sounded very tired, I tried to summarize my situation but I had been on hold for over 25 minutes getting frustrated. I was feeling very frantic and he met me with absolute dead silence, it felt quite disheartening and frustrating. He said to me what do you want me to do" "why did you call here" "what do you think is a solution". This place has no resources or advice in any way

I talked to Mary and she was very kind, sympathetic, compassionate, understanding and helpful. I was lucky that when I phoned at about 910 a.m. this morning, January 5, Thursday, I didn’t have to wait long to talk to someone. Thanks Mary.

The person I spoke to decided I wasn't listening to them in the way they wanted to be listened to, so they hung up on me...harsh thing to do when someone is hopeless and literally crying their eyes out on the phone to you. Posting so others can be aware: If you call in, just be prepared for your crisis to be made worse as your problems are disregarded and you're hung up on.Oh, also I was verbatim called crazy" more than once
