Stopped in on a Monday evening after a beer down the street at Bar Volo. We've been wanting to try Lao for a while, and rolled the dice to see if we could get a spot as walk-ins.There was no problem getting a couple of seats at the bar, and we were surprised to see the place absolutely rammed on a Monday. We figured they must be doing something right, and we were struck immediately by the atmosphere / decor - miles ahead of the restaurant that occupied the space before them.We ended up having a single cocktail each, and a couple of appetizers - both which were huge and very very tasty. The tapioca dumplings came with some peanuts, chilies, and some pieces of lettuce and herbs to make your own little wraps. The sauce they were paired with was amazing as well. The second appetizer was the green papaya fritters, which again were huge. We actually didn't end up finishing them but not for lack of want... We were honestly stuffed.Highly highly recommend, and we'll definitely be back.

First time here and it was an amazing experience! It was a vibe inside and the food was delicious! The server and hostess were both really friendly and welcoming. We tried a few a few different dishes:- Tapioca dumplings- Drunken noodles- Lao bbq chicken- Duck Salad- Stir fried veggiesThe chicken takes 35-40 mins to make so make sure you order that first but def worth the wait! It was cooked perfectly, so flavourful and moist. The duck salad was probably my favourite. I loved the lemongrass flavour in it. The tapioca dumplings are very unique and I’ve never had anything like it. I love the bouncy texture of the tapioca. Also, love that the drunken noodles were the thick kind so it soaks up all the flavour! Also got the Thai milk tea which was so good!Food was delicious and def recommend this place

I'm usually not a curry girl but man was the Green Curry FLAVOURFUL! It was so creamy and delicious from the coconut milk and had a nice kick to it. The chicken in it was so tender and velvety, I wish I had a whole pot of it. The skewers were also delicious! Very juicy NOT dry at all. The Duck Salad was also very good, the taste reminds me of the Vietnamese Fresh rolls with the pig skin. The thing I was most looking forward to was the Tapioca Dumplings but unfortunately they were all sold out.I thought the restaurant looked very nice and modern. But it was just a tad bit dark in there and the music was extremely loud. It was very hard to have a conversation on top of other dinners too. The service was nice and friendly but it was also very hard to get their attention because the restaurant was so packed which I assumed why our food took so long to come out cause it was so busy.

Everything we ordered was amazing. Flavourful, right amount of spice and balanced. The ambiance and design were fitting to what you would think a trendy southeast Asian restaurant would be like. The best thing on the menu is the Lao sausage sooo good. The Lao BBQ chicken was great too….literally everything was good that we ordered. Cocktails were great too. Will have to go back

A beautiful restaurant with delicious food! We tried the Lao BBQ chicken, the green papaya fritters, the tapioca dumplings, and the satay chicken. Every dish amazed me and left me feeling so happy ^_^I especially loved the papaya fritters — the crispy batter and the tamarind chili sauce were exceptional! The chicken from the Lao BBQ chicken dish and the satay chicken were also both so tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The restaurant seems to be pretty popular — we came right when they opened on a Saturday, and it immediately started getting busy.I would highly recommend coming here with your family or friends just so you can try out multiple different dishes and experience the beautifully decorated interiors ;))

Service was friendly and fast and everything was really tasty! The Lao sausage tasted just like my grandma's, the mango salad was flavourful, and the spring rolls were nice and crispy. The Thai tea was very refreshing. We'll definitely come back to try more of the menu :)

The beef jerky is super good. The tom yum soup is perfect. They all go well with sticky rice. I love the BBQ chicken too. But they sold out the fried noodle that should have come with the BBQ chicken and they didn’t let me know about it. I was upset about that because I was looking forward to trying the Lao Fried Noodle. They should have told me that they don’t have the noodle when I ordered. They just brought the chicken and told me later. However, the food was good.

I've never had Lao food, though it has similarities to Thai food. The Thai Ice tea was excellent, the sweetness is not as dominating as other restaurants and you really taste more tea.The Tapioca dumplings were unlike any flavours I've tried before. The Tapioca has a slight sweetness to it and the filling was very savoury and it was a flavour bomb! The service was excellent. The restaurant was extremely busy. We made a reservation for 9:15 and stayed until closing and while closing, they did not rush or push us out and still filled our waters while they were closing up.Will definitely come back again. Make sure to make a reso in advance!

Elegant and cozy spot for upscale takes on Lao dishes. The restaurant is much more spacious than you may think — there is a main area as you walk in and a smaller and mote intimate one in the back. Food-wise, the dishes were good and you will definitely get that Southeast Asian flavor. A few memorable ones are the Lao BBQ chicken, the Beef Massaman curry and the Lao sausage. Oh, and the Thai Milk tea was super refreshing. Overall, a great dining experience.
