Sunset Dog Retreat

Timber has always had fun and loves the folks at sunset for over 6 years.Really nice that they have upgraded kennel and did a lot of renovations and kennal is really clean.Timber was happy.Definatelly recommend.

I really wanted to take my time writing this review because there are so many wonderful things that I want to say about the Sunset Dog Retreat and the owner. I sent my golden lab Calvin there from December 16-27 just after the new owners opened their doors back up. When I went to drop him off I was met by a very energetic and enthusiastic man named Lucas. He took me on a tour of the facility and was very happy to answer all of my questions. They were very thorough with the intake forms and checking the vaccination status. The facility was beautiful, clean and very well maintained. They had just completed some renovations and you can clearly tell that they are passionate about what they are doing. While Calvin was staying at the Retreat, I got daily updates with pictures and videos of him playing outside with other dogs and very clearly enjoying himself. I was happy to hear that Calvin was getting along with the owners dog so well that he was spending most of his time there with him in the office when it was not his outside time. Calvin got two long walks a day and had the option just to stay outside in a dog run for longer to play. When I went to pick Calvin up I could clearly tell that he had had a wonderful time because he kept running back and forth from myself and the owner. Calvin was bouncy and playful. I was so happy with everything that I have already booked him in for another stay.

Sunset dog retreat is an incredible place with caring and knowledgeable staff. Our very high energy (lab) dog with separation anxiety had the best time and it's the only place we will ever consider leaving him overnight. The structure and lots of outdoor play time with engaging staff left our dog happy and cared for during his stay(s). Thank you so much Lucas, Laura, and your other staff!

Dropped off our dog over New Years Eve. Upon drop off, my dog was nervous but Lucas and his team made me feel confident leaving her there. He showed me the areas where the dogs sleep, and was ensured me my dog was in good hands. When I picked her up, she was very excited and in good spirits. Great job Lucas and team, look forward to having her there soon!

Our pup absolutely loved this place.He came back so happy and so tired. Definitely our new boarding spot.

All I can say is - WOW! I can’t express enough how happy we are to have finally found a doggy day care that cares about our dog as if he is their own. We dropped off our frenchie Bauer last week and we were greeted by Lucas who is very kind, energetic and professional. You can tell immediately he is super passionate about what he does. The facility is also super clean. Bauer stayed for a few days and we received updates daily from Lucas. We picked up Bauer a bit later than we had originally planned for but Lucas was very accommodating with the timing. When we picked Bauer up, you could tell he had the best time ever. Usually, he is a bit sulky and sad that we have left him somewhere other than home but this time was different (yes, he is a huge suck). This made us feel so happy because we have had some bad experiences at other places where we know he has not gotten the best care. All in all - 6/5 review! Bonus - Lucas also has a frenchie named Stitch… check out the new best friends!

Lucas and the new staff over at Sunset are so great with all the dogs. My Rottweiler is always so excited when I take her that she doesn’t even notice I’m leaving! Also the facility is always spotless and is very warm and welcoming plus the gated area for them to play in surprisingly large!!

Lucas has gone above and beyond to take care of our pup Leo! They have a very thorough process of introducing and integrating dogs and getting to know their personalities. We got multiple updates through the day and were so happy to see how well Leo was doing. The first time we took Leo for a site visit, he was very anxious. After his first visit he’s excited to see Lucas and spend time at the resort!
