I am not impressed with this firm. I am a legal aid client and instead of keeping the legal aide clients they have they dumped them all. I have open files and court proceedings with them. They then conclude in their letter if i want to stay with the firm i will need to pay their hourly rate. I get that you can’t accept all legal aide certificates, how about you NOT dump the clients you have with legal aide and just stop accepting the certificates. What happened today was very unprofessional way of handling the situation. I will not be recommending your services to anyone. Be careful you might be dumped, in an unprofessional manor. Just out of the blue i received a letter from the legal assistant. Meanwhile i have an open EPO hearing and other open court proceedings. Theres professional and then there is unprofessional and this firm is very unprofessional, please be warned they will dump you as they see fit with very little warning.The lawyer i had then decided to send me a letter on a travel day for her, so when she received my email it took her by surprise ad she was traveling. Well you informed the courts and the other opposing counsel 2 days before you left, you chose to send me your letter on your travel day. Just because what you did was ethically right doesn’t make any less unprofessional. To top it off the lawyer I had was also never there so no wonder she had issues with legal aide, she was almost always away on trips, courses and such. I was told to deal with legal aide, i was told to call them and get clarification, so then when i do i’m told by the staff lawyer at legal aide that this is the lawyers job. If they don’t understand they are to call and get clarification to better understand legal Aides process. It’s not the clients job to do that for the lawyer. The lawyer is paid at least half of their firm rate they need to be calling and figuring out legal aids process and handling that appropriately. If this said lawyer wasn’t away some much she may be able to focus on all her clients including her legal aide ones. Avery client deserves the same respect and you give the next regardless of wether they are legal aid or not.

I have been working with Erin and Mountain Vista Law for a few years now. The situation I have been in has been very challenging and difficult however I feel lucky and blessed to have the support of Erin in addition to the team at Mountain Vista Law. They all have been amazing and have helped me navigate some extremely tricky situations.
