For years I have had David Kennedy, Top Flight Management, managing my rental property here in HRM.Whenever I have had a concern re the property, I would call David, and it was taken care of. Whenever he is going to repair, install, or fix anything re the rental property he contacts me, either to consult, or other times just to let me know so there aren't any surprises when I review the monthly property statement.Top Flight Management has made it very easy for me to own a rental property without any worry. We have rented a property that Daniel and David at Top Flight have managed for two years now. As former home owners, we we had not rented in over 20 yrs coming to Dartmouth from Fredericton. They have been amazing for us. Having someone fix a faulty garage door, replace old and done dishwasher and washing machine, plus when roof shingles starting hitting the street after a couple of storms, they contacted the owner and the roof was replaced ASAP. Can't say enough about how responsive and attentive they have been to our reaching out to them when we needed something. In 2015 I left Halifax to live in another part of the country. Not wanting to sell my home I decided that renting my property would be best for me. Understanding the challenges of trying to manage a rental property from long distance, i felt that a property manager would be best for me.Enter David Kennedy and Top Flight Property Management.They find and screen tenant applicants, collect all rental payments and damage deposits and deal with all tenant concerns and property repairs. All I have had to do is receive my monthly rental income which is always on time.if you require property management services, I strongly recommend Top Flight Property Management. Dave and Daniel make a great team. They have been managing a single-family rental for us since June 2017. We were between tenants at the time, fixing things up, and they gave us all the time and advice we needed. They had a new tenant arranged within a few weeks. Since then the property has been taken care of and they have provided excellent proactive advice. We have also had occasional contact with the tenants and it is clear that Top Flight has established good relations with them as well.

I have lived in one of their properties for two years and have been an excellent tenant. I had no issues with this company, until my previous roommates moved out, and we found new tenants to take over the lease and were all denied on little notice, quite unfairly, after trying to get in touch and waiting to hear back. All of their responses leading up were unpleasant. unhelpful, blameful and aggressive. One of our applicants had a conversation recently where they were told that we had to settle a few things with our applications by a certain date, whereby we did and then waited to hear back from them for an unacceptable amount of time. They were also told that said property manager made mention of family that he had lined up to move into the property if we failed to comply, which is what we now suspect is the reason that we are losing our home. I managed to get in contact with one of the managers finally just today over the phone, whereby he lied and denied the agreement that was made and told us that we were denied. Now we are all out of house and home for September. I will never rent another property from this company again, and encourage anyone I care about to also not rent from them. I only gave 1 star because there wasn't a zero star option...In response to 'Response from the Owner':It's hard to understand how we didn't qualify for the property when we had gotten applications filled out from all prospective tenants by the agreed upon deadline- and then waited and waited for any response back from the property managers *after many ignored emails and phone calls in attempt to make contact* - to be abruptly and unexpectedly denied at the latest possible moment- without being given any actual reason. Also, last I heard from some folks in that neighborhood, no one has moved into that property since we left...

I rented a property managed by this company, and had an extremely bad experience. When we contacted them for anything, it took weeks to get a response, and when they did reply it was with threats and defensiveness. When we finally moved out because of how poorly we were treated, they lied about the state of the unit we moved out of, and kept our damage deposit. We tried to fight them on it but after realizing how much it would cost us to fight them in court, we gave up. Additionally, they lied about us to our landlord, who then wouldn't communicate with us directly at all.Do not rent from anyone under this company. They will cheat you and treat you horribly.Also note the 5-star reviews are from landlords, and 1-star reviews are from tenants. Again, do not rent from this company.

We hired David to look after a property we own. Helped us to do a proper one year lease in there. Our experience was great in every way. Thirty years experience really shows and we can’t thank David and Daniel at Top Flight enough.Dwayne

We have been with top flight for 3 years. They have been excellent mangers for our properties. They are on time with accounting and rent. Never a problem. They have managed several renovations of our buildings and all work has been closely supervised. We had a flood in one unit and they coordinated with insurence to ensure the repairs were done quickly and right. Our ten ends have been very positive about how they have been treated. I have no reservations recommending top flight.

Aggressive and frustrating to deal with. When applying to live at one of their properties, communication was sparse, and they notified us that our application was due the DAY OF. We lined up sub letters and had tenants for the fall, but Top Flight did not even ATTEMPT to help us with our application, instead choosing to rant about poor reviews from completely unrelated previous tenants and deny our application as it lacked 4 tenants for the month of September (Despite us saying we had people for September as well). It didn't stop them from taking my rent that I paid to sublet for the month of August though. They seemed intent on getting us out, despite us moving in with a previous tenant that had caused no issues.When we were told the property would be listed after the weekend, we lined up a perfect application for the lease, and had it sent in before Monday. We did not hear from them for 4 days, until they promptly called and aggressively told us to find a new place to live. Property manager wouldn't listen to a word we said and was almost definitely intent on filling the space with someone else he had lined up. Put me out $500 and a place to live, terrible management.

Top Flight has been very good for us as property owners. When there are issues they are dealt with quickly. I see there are either 5 star or 1 star ratings. All landlords know the 1 star reviewers are problem tenants trying to get back at someone. Top Flight makes sure the rules set out in the lease are followed.
