Great food. They were extremely busy at the time, so service could have been better but the quality of the food made up for it. Reasonably priced, too.

Awesome family atmosphere followed by great service and outstanding food. We had Fajitas Parrillada Tropical, which comes with rice, refried beans, sour cream/avacado and my had the Carne Asada. Priced well for the portion. Totally coming back. Oh and my favorite Mexican drink made up of white rice soaked in water, it's flavored with cinnamon and its sweetened with granulated sugar.

The food was excellent! Was very quiet. We were there 1pm Monday. Nice atmosphere, but the music was a little too loud for conversations.

I visited this restaurant with my family while on family business in this town. Overall, in my opinion, the food does not justify the price. My wife ordered a Juarez plate and I ordered a parrillada tropical. The taco meat in a Taco Bell taco looks more appealing, and better tasting, than the meat in the Juarez plate taco. Honestly, it looked like smashed puppy chow. My wife didn't even finish the plate, and only took the initial bite of the taco before leaving it. The enchilada in the plate was vomitrocious. The plate didn't even include rice, (not that the rice on the other plate was great), considering that most other places do include the rice for that price. The parrillada tropical entree taste was ok, but definitely not worth the price. It came with some cheap, store bought tortillas, again, worse than the soft taco tortillas fromTaco Bell. (No offense to Taco Bell). Beans get 0 stars. Rice gets 1 star. On a positive note, I did try the shrimp cocktail which was good. My 2 teenager kids had a fajita quesadilla, and they both described feeling an unusual slimy texture. The taste was ok for them. The place has a nice look, and I was disappointed that the food was not as good as the look of the place. This was my experience. For perspective, I am hispanic, so my taste buds may be more demanding than someone who might not be used to authentic mexican cooking.

Great food and service! We tried many different menu items, and all were very tasty. Reasonable prices and free chips and salsa for every table. I didn't have a margarita, but they sure look pretty when they come out! It's worth a stop!

We visited La Terraza at approximately 1:30 pm on October 1st of 2022 after the lunch rush. We were wonderfully greeted by the staff and were seated at a large table as we were a group of five. Our server was superb (Gulmira). She not only took our orders, but took care of our every need and anticipated others from napkins to drinks even recommended dessert options for the group to share. We started with the normal chips and salsa. We also added a large cheese queso to the group. It was well worth the $9.99 price point. It was huge, plenty for each person to share and more to individually use on your meal, if you wanted it. I ordered a Trio Mexicano (photo) that had steak, chicken, and shrimp with rice and beans with a twist of orange. Others in my group ordered Enchiladas Mole (photo), Tacos Carne Asada (photo) and two Steak Quesadilla Fajitas (not pictured). The Trio was absolutely wonderful as it came with warm homemade tortillas. The sauce was devine and all proteins were cooked to the correct temperature. The grilling provided just the right textures. I would definitely suggest trying it, but beware, you need to be hungry to finish it in one sitting (LOL). The Enchiladas Mole was filled with shredded beef. The sauce was dark and rich. Surprisingly, the slight addition of the sesame seeds added a nice texture to the sauce. We like the visual garnishment of the tomato, the green pepper and a purple onion slice vs the standard spoonful of pico. Our youngest member who is a taco enthusiast decided on the Tacos Carne Asada. The three taco dish was delivered street style with homemade double layers corn tortillas over-filled with steak with sides of fresh tomato pico and beans. I tried a piece of the steak. The flavors were so layered that I wanted to steal a few more pieces just for the flavor, let alone the tenderness of the steak, itself. Our enthusiast gave it a well deserved thumbs-up! The Steak Quesadillas were well filled with cheese and tender steak. It filled the other two members of the party . As the group was coming to the meal's conclusion, Gulmira suggested a couple or orders of Sopapillas. I agreed as long as they were the kind that were fluffy pillows of dough. She guaranteed they were. We agreed. Gulmira returned with two large plates of Sopapillas with each plate containing three beautifully fluffed pillows gently coated in sugar & cinnamon with drizzlings of caramel. On the side of each plate was two small scoops of vanilla ice cream covered with real whipped cream drizzled with chocolate syrup and a cherry. It was the perfect ending to a perfect lunch!Our luncheon was wonderfully perfect at La Terraza. Our cuisine was some of the best Mexican we have had in a good while. We will definitely be making this fine establishment one of our regulars when we feel the need for flavors south of the border. Plus, we have an entire menu to explore!!

The staff were rude. We had to flag them down anytime we needed anything because they never checked on our party of 6. Our server seemed like we were bothering him by being there. One of our meals was a steak. He asked for it medium and it was well done and tough. When we asked for steak sauce they brought out an empty bottle. The prices were very high as well. I would definitely not recommend taking a family there.

If you come in with a large party they automatically charge the table 15% gratuity regardless if the service is good, bad or non existent. Guess what that means? That means you’ll spend your whole evening flagging them down for drinks, missing tortillas, refills and your bill because they don’t check on your table because they already got their tip. I addressed this with the waiter, he proceeded to tell me he let us reserve a table on their busiest night when they don’t usually reserve tables and then we were there for four hours as if four hours of bad service still warrants 15% gratuity. Oh and BTW, the entire party ordered drinks the whole evening, so it wasn’t like we were just sitting there taking up space on their “busiest night” and not spending a lot of money. As for the food, the chips were hard, the food was underwhelming and they charge extra for using a card instead of cash. I won’t be back. Do yourself a favor and drive to Madelia, MN and eat at the best Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to, La Plaza Fiesta, you won’t be sorry.

The food was very good. For our table we had beef, pork, and chicken. All of them were tender and full of flavor. The queso was also a highlight. Service was prompt and everyone was friendly.
