It is beautiful historic place just off the the old highway to the border on 588 chef Shelly Simon has an amazing menu and some of the best burgers in the northwestern Ontario. Great selection of craft beers and she was the only restaurant to serve WalkerVille beer.

I went there for a staff party, the food was sub-par. The lower area was very cold. The murder mystery they hosted was a blast though.

Hours may vary but if the open sign is up definitely give it a try.

My husband, daughter and I rented their cabin through vrbo for the weekend. We are from Minnesota and this was our first trip ever to Canada. We were very excited to have a nice little cabin, away from city lights to view the northern lights.This did not happen.Instead we did not receive our entry code to enter the property until several hours after check in. By this time we had already booked the VERY LAST hotel room available in Thunder Bay for the night. My husband spent hours calling the owner and vrbo, trying to figure out what was going on. 4 hours of day #1 shot.The next day we had the code so our plan was to hit the attractions we wanted to see, have dinner, then make it an early night back at the cabin.We arrived and it had not been cleaned from the last people who had rented, there was no electricity and no running water. So again, my husband spends a couple hours trying to reach the owner and vrbo. But once it started getting dark, and he was not getting any response, we decided we needed to leave. There were no emergency candles and no outdoor lights from any of the surrounding buildings. My guess is she didn't pay her electric bill... but who knows.So we attempted to book another hotel room. But there were NONE in Thunder Bay or any surrounding areas. We had to head back to the US to find a room 3 hours away.I am furious with the owner for ruining this trip by not having the basic things ready for someone to rent her property.While we made the best of the time we could, we had to cut our trip short because of this.Also... the restaurant looks like it has been abandoned for a long time. Don't try to eat there.
