I have worked with Betty Kost of Signature Interiors for 20 years on three major renovations. Our renovated homes have been featured in 2 Young Life Annual Fund Raising Home Tours for Renovations.Betty is creative, imaginative and listens to what her clients want and need. She is sensitive to budget restrictions and plans accordingly. Her network of professionals and tradespeople is impressive and their quality of work, excellent.. Betty walks the talk and goes the extra mile, sometimes spending days looking for the right item, product or fixture.In this last reno she acted as Project Manager for our insurance company and was able to fast track the tradespeople and the huge inconvenience of having to store furnishings off site and move out of our house for two weeks. I was impressed how attentive and sensitive she was to our stress and how quickly and efficiently she works for her clients.I am happy to recommend Betty to anyone who wants excellent design and decoratinng advice. Betty designed and oversaw the renovation of our kitchen. She came in 100% within budget and we’re very happy with the results.

Betty just finished decorating our kitchen, master bathroom and laundry room. All I can say is: she is fantastic. She created a look that far exceeded what we anticipated. We would highly recommend her - our house looks like it belongs in a magazine!

Before we hired Betty Kost of Kost Holdings dba Signature Interiors we were warned by two business people to stay away from her as they knew of clients that were totally frustrated from dealing with her. She has such a winning personality that I didn't bother listening to them and I lived to regret that decision. I am writing this review with the hope it saves others from going through what I went through. We have been building residential homes for well over 30 years so I have all my regular suppliers and trades people and do all the design myself but the place we get our cabinets from was really backlogged and was going to take 8 weeks to get our cabinets designed and installed. I bumped into Betty at an appliance store where she had done their showroom and got talking to her. When I told her I was about to order my cabinets she said she could save me a lot of money and have them to me in 4 weeks. Sounded great, right? To make a long story short, I first met with Betty about the cabinets on August 12, 2019 and I gave her the design of everything I was looking for except for a few tweaks. It took close to 3 months to get a proper quote and correct designs from her! The cabinets were finished being installed in the second week of December! It took 4 months! It was not the cabinet manufacturer's fault. They went out of their way to speed things up when they found out what was going on. Betty delayed and delayed, would take a week or longer to get a revised quote to me or an amended design, was late for meetings, had several excuses about not having something done or not showing up. She was given the details that I wanted birch plywood boxes for all my cabinets and she tried to pass off melamine boxes instead but at birch plywood prices. Then when I reiterated no melamine, I received another quote where she changed some of the boxes to birch plywood but left others as melamine. I had to go over everything with a fine tooth comb as she would leave things out of the quote or not provide the same quality that I wanted. She would tell me the cabinet company was working on my cabinets and I found out later, when I called them directly, that they hadn't even received the design from her yet. I would question what was going on and she kept telling me not to worry, this company works miracles and would have them in 3 weeks and then 2 weeks. None of it was true. She made it sound to the cabinet maker that we were long term clients of hers and made it appear that the cabinet maker had done lots of work for her so gave her priority on her jobs. I found out she had worked with the cabinet maker on one job before and even that job the buiilder was frustrated and had to deal directly with the cabinet maker. She also got involved with my tiles but I finally fired her for that as I just couldn't get a delivered price from her....so that delayed me as well. The other area we experienced a problem was with the hardwood flooring. She measured and placed the order and, granted the hardwood was a very good quality and price, but she ordered way too much and we ended up with 9 unopened boxes left over. She told us that we couldn't return them. We have never had a problem with our regular suppliers in returning unopened boxes of hardwood and she didn't mention that we couldn't return them at the time of ordering. So the good price was no longer a good price. Everything was always vague and you couldn't get straight answers from her. I would never use or recommend her to anyone.

Same as Vanessa review below: ONly the difference is, that I have never done a renovation before and with this experience will probably never do another. Her reputation ruins it not only for the home owner but for the designers and contractors to follow. An all out nightmare. We started the project in spring of 2022 requesting a quote with a budget provided and that took 4 months to come and was an estimate that was 25% over our budget. We hung on for as long as we could. Although we were adament that all product needed to be in stock, we finally haulted the project when the tile did not arrive (was on a ship somewhere with no deliver date) and the tiler had personal problems and could not come. In hind site probably a good thing. The bathroom fixtures did not arrive until the fall 2022. Need I say more, but I will. Not one design layout did I receive to look at with colour or placement of furniture (and I asked many times for it)and consistantly had to correct the measurement on the drawings that were provided. No budget until we fired her and were about to sue and insisted we get an accounting. Then we received our bill for 1/4 more than our budget amount and rememeber the job was only 1/2 done. Nightmare! So sorry to have to say this for such what seems like a lovely lady, but not an once of integrity.
