Gibralter Rock Ocean View B&B

My finance and I recently books a week long stay at this bed and breakfast, when we first arrived we were a little disappointed that there was not a full size kitchen as we had asked about while booking. The room was ok but could use some TLC. They must of been short on house keepers as there were many areas of the room that were neglected to be cleaned, im asthmatic and did not appreciate the giant dust bunnies under the bed. I was also disappointed with the set up of the room as I had booked the room as a getaway to relax and couldn't even watch TV in bed, or anywhere comfortable for that matter. The TV was located in the kitchen of all places along with 2 single chairs to relax on. I will say that the view was absolutely beautiful but we had a hard time relaxing as there was terrible sound proofing & could hear the owners speaking to eachother clear as day while i was trying to sleep despite the noise the bed was very uncomfortable and old. I smashed my legs on the bulky bed frames several times during my stay....I was uncomfortable doing laundry as it caused the two owners to begin arguing but in there own language so we could not understand what they were saying. The worst part of our stay was the lack of privacy the owners came into our suite unnouced several times and even went threw are garbage (i think that illegal but I could be wrong) we had a friend pick us up one day and when the owners saw our friend they accused us of having a third person staying in our suite and demanded more money for extra person.Over ALL I didnt feel very valued as a customer, I felt unwelcomed and was quite disappointed with the entire experience i would not recommend this place for any reason other then the magnificent view, I hope anyone else who stays there has a better experience then we did

Nice place with a beautiful view. A few things you have to maintain, you have to come back here within 10 pm and no noise after 10 pm and breakfast is not included. But, one thing that is granted is to get a beautiful view. This picture is from the window in which room we stay.

Great view and location. Very clean and quiet. Breakfast is $10 but well worth it. I payed for 2 nights, but could only stay 1. The hosts offered to refund the difference, but I just asked to give me a credit since I plan on coming back one day.

The B&B/home is situated at the very top of a mountain with an unobstructed view of the sea, mountains, ferries, birds, walkers at Pipers Lagoon and Neck Point parks, the cascading streets and homes in the neighborhood, and Sunshine Coast, Vancouver skyline, and Mount Baker in Washington across the water. Apparently even whales are spotted on occasion! The hosts are warm and friendly. The family lives on site, so it's a true B&B; don't expect a hotel like atmosphere. Clean room and bathroom, comfortable bed. We could see the dark starry night sky from the bedroom window. The wraparound balcony means that every room has semi-private access (separated by a partition) to the same view. Both sunrise and sunset were absolutely spectacular.

Solid 3 because of the view… otherwise the place is nothing special and a bit awkward for the layout.Nothing spectacular about the hosts and this is NOT and a traditional B&B. There’s no breakfast.It’s just average and again the B&B is somewhat of scammy for the lack of breakfast.

We spent one night in this beautiful homestay. It was one of the best stay i have experienced with my lovely family.It doesn't look fancy or luxurious but the view is marvelous. I am so loved and so blessed.

Breathtaking ViewStayed at Gibralter Rock Oceanview one night for our anniversary. Wish we could have stayed longer. I was somewhat hesitant to write a review because I wanted this place to be our best kept secret. However, I also wanted to rave to everyone what a beautiful place this is to stay while in Nanaimo, BC. ALSO, Charles and Cari were gracious hosts during our stay. They gave us our privacy but also were always available if we wanted or needed something. The view from the deck is amazing. My husband and I will definitely return. Thank you, Charles and Cari, for your hospitality in your beautiful home.

people need to stop putting their houses on rent for 'bnbs' it's 2023, noone cares. Airbnb exists, go there. I'm trying to find a hotel and I can't see anything over the garbage sea of these

Beautiful view, spotless suite with everything you need.Charles and Cari were so helpful and so friendly. We had the most wonderful, quiet evening on the balcony watching the sun set...the bed was very comfortable. We would come back again and would recommend this fantastic place to everyone

They are very nice hosts. they were always very keen to help. we got stuck due to icy roads and they helped us a lot cleaning the road and making us comfortable. Room has a king bed and big bathroom.
