I recently took this course and I have nothing but good things to say! In just 2 weeks the class and I successfully became certified bartenders and had a blast a long the way. The environment is relaxed, educational and fun. Both instructors Chris and Grant were fantastic, I highly recommend if you’re looking into bartending!

Tieg is an excellent and skilled bartender, host and teacher! He taught us so much in three quick hours, all we need now is practice and thirsty friends. :) It was a fun filled evening, I would highly recommend checking it out. It’s also a great date night activity.

The owner (Chris) and the instructor (Tieg) of the school are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about alcoholic beverages and teaching. I take the weekend class and really enjoy learning. The class is 20% theory and 80% practice. I gain more knowledge and confidence in handling cocktail drinks after taking the class here. Highly recommended for cocktail enthusiasts.

Here's to everyone who thought of wanting to be a bartender, or maybe you are just curious to learn more about the cocktails that you order at Happy Hour, or maybe you already work a 9-5 and want to try something FUN- like develop a skill set to rake in some additional income (let's be real, we all know living in Vancouver is expensive!): Fine Art Bartending School is the perfect place for you!The classroom is set up like a real bar, and most of our time was spent on hands-on learning (mixing cocktails with coloured liquids instead of real alcohol :p). Our instructor Chris shared his expertise from working in the industry, and it is very clear that he has a knack for teaching. There is a LOT of memorization, so I appreciate that he would call on each of us to *recall* information that we went over before, and would explain the concepts by applying them to real life situations. Chris made class FUN!Some tips:1) even if you ready work a full time job, there is likely a class that will fit with your schedule (evenings, days, weekends). I chose the weekend session - Saturday (4hrs) Sunday (4hrs) 8 classes total2) write your own flashcards! - a new pack of blank flashcards are provided to you on the first day of class, very handy.3) read ahead! (even if you speed read the notes for 10 minutes before class, it helps to retain the information when you see/hear the terms again and again)4) if you have any spirits / mixers lying around at home, try to make 1 or 2 things after class. Actually making / tasting the drinks helps solidify the ingredients / mixing process to memory! This really worked for me and was a fun way to study :)5) this course is a whole package deal - theory, hands on, and tips to get hired (and be set up for success) in the real world6) whoever came up with the added bonus of being a student FOR LIFE... aka, being able to re-take classes for no additional cost as long as there is room in the class - THANK YOU! This is a huge bonus that shows Fine Art really encourages learning. There's always room to improve and further develop our skills, no matter how much experience we have. Thanks again Chris & Fine Art Bartending School. It's been a blast! Now onwards to the real world :') !

I am very happy with the training I received at Fine Art Bartending! The classes were packed with information and we spent a lot of time learning about the hospitality and liquor industries how various spirits, beer and wine are made, making drinks and honing our skills! Our instructor, Zack was an excellent communicator and guided us confidently through the course with first-hand experience and knowledge. I've already recommended the course to several friends!

What a fun, intensive class! We spent eight days learning cocktails, how different types of alcohol is made, and how to pour wine and beer.Had a small and wonderful group of people in this class who I had a pleasure learning alongside and a wonderful teacher (Chris).Chris was very helpful and super informative and always trying to better each person every day.He spends every day teaching us something new and also repeating everything we learned previously to set you up for success for the final exam!Thank you so much Chris and classmates for the unique and fun experience!! I highly recommend this class for everyone who wants to learn bar intro.

I had the great privilege of attending day classes at Fine Art Bartending this summer and my experience was amazing! Both Chris and Grant are class acts and care about their students' success. Despite my initial struggles, the classroom environment was great and I never felt disrespected or inadequate. This course is intensive and requires one to apply themselves, however, even a student with little to no experience with alcohol (like myself) can and will succeed. My only complaint is that I feel we really brushed over the beer section and only changed a tank and poured one beer from the tap once--it would be cool if these processes were incorporated into practice rounds. Overall a sensational experience and I'm excited to start work as a bartender!
