What a let down. We went to this Sugar Camp several years ago and it was fine. We were able to have a small and reasonable meal and walk the paths. We were hoping for a better experience this time. We saw horse rides on line, and people giving a history of maple syrup...but when we got there...nothing. No horses, nobody giving demonstrations. Even the taffy experience was terrible - and expensive. We figured at least we would eat. So, we went into the lodge with two grandparents, two parents and three kids. Had we actually eaten, the bill for a pancake and sausage brunch would have been close to $200!!!!! Over $29 per adult and I didn't stick around to find out how much it would have been for kids under 12 - but it it was over $6 it would have been too much - considering what they would actually eat. This is so disappointing. We mentioned this to some people, and they told us about some on the Quebec side that have admission of about $30 per person which includes brunch, rides, demonstrations and hikes through the operation and also the taffy experience. I'm afraid I will never find my way back to the Sand Road Maple Farm.

That breakfast was not worth the price. The bacon was like beef jerky and it was so insanely salty. The sauge was also nasty.

The one star ratings on here are the most accurate thing I've seen in a while, 4.3 stars must be a joke. This is false advertising at it's finest. The only thing that rings true is the outrageous price for the food and I'm not sure what bacon they use but I'm pretty sure it clogged an artery for each of us. There are absolutely 0 guided tours, the only thing I saw that could have been a tour was the guy making the maple syrup but he failed as well as he didn't say one word to the guests. There was a horse drawn sleigh but it was $5 dollars per ride and it could only fit 8 people max, huge line up. There were trails as well to see the blue tubing around the trees but the trails were not maintained so you might as well brings skates because that's pretty much all you could get around in safely. This is nothing but a very expensive breakfast, very disappointed.

Food was good. A little pricey for what it was. Very disappointed there were no staff or signs to give any information about the maple process. We expected to be able to see the maple syrup being made, as this is what is advertised. The only activity available was horse wagon rides. The taffy was good, but they charge more than advertised (advertised $2 but charge $3).The hiking trails have some sign spots, but no information describing what is there. Difficult to walk in parts of the trail

Took our kids for a day visit for some maple goodies and a scrumptious breakfast. Started off with the cashier charging us full adult price for my child and arguing with us about the cost, even though we checked the website before leaving and it clearly stated child prices were for ages 6 to 12. Then tried to pull a fast one on us by charging us all sorts of different prices to make up for the overage. Not wanting to hold up the line we just said ok and paid. Come to find out after breakfast that there was no horse drawn wagon ride, even though that was also stated on the website. So we took a quick walk instead, opting to finish off our stay with some freshly poured toffee on snow, only to find out they now do it inside, themselves, at a cost of 2$ a stick! What a rip off! I was so incredibly disappointed with the overcharging on everything, especially after deciding to attend this sugar shack over others in the area. Won't make that mistake again.

Very disappointed. The breakfast was mediocre and over priced. I don't know what the sausages were made from but they didn't taste like sausages. The bacon and potatoes were overcooked and the syrup on the table tasted like corn syrup. The beans came from a can. All this for $29.50. Didn't see any working evidence that maple syrup was actually being produced at this farm apart from form the lines attached to some trees and a shed with equipment not working. The horse carriage ride was an extra $5.00 and we were told it was a 20 minute ride that actually worked out to 13/14 minutes. There was no walking trail through the bush. Unfortunately unless the business practices improve at this establishment, I will not return.
