Ansell Chimneys

My advice, don't go anywhere near this bloke. Described our chimney and fireplaces in full to the secretary (who is also the chimney sweeps' wife) she quoted £55, I agreed to this and booked him in. Upon arrival he met my husband and stated that there were two chimneys and it would cost double the amount. I disputed this with him and told the chimney sweep I had explained the situation, i.e. how many fireplaces, layout of house etc to his wife/secretary and had been quoted £55. He said I had said that there were two chimneys and I'd said I only wanted one swept... Completely untrue, as far as I was aware there was only one chimney. He swept one and said he'd come back to sweep the next one at a further cost. I was not happy with this, explaining that I was not happy to pay double or pay for only half a job. Will be going to Trading Standards for advice.

So impressed always have my chimney swept in the summer but didn’t happen this year. Called got a lovely man ex fireman who pointed out an issue with my chimney before sweeping my chimney. Clean professional and friendly and the best sweep of our large fireplace. First light better than ever so impressed with them just recommended to my friend and had to place this review. Thank you

Ansell Chimneys - what can I say. I thoroughly recommend these guys. They came to look at the gas fireplace that we had installed by another company to provide advice. They did it free of charge: I could not persuade the engineer who came around (Neville) to accept a payment. Thoroughly, thoroughly recommended. Nice guys, great service! Please use them for stove installations etc.

Neville cleaned my chimney in Nov. Very happy about the service, professional, clean and tidy. Neville also gave lots of advice of how to use the chimney safely and efficiently.

Nice honest friendly chap - experienced and helpful. Turned up to sweep the chimney but there was a stubborn bird inside - however he managed to safely persuade the bird back up the stack and it flew safely away. He did a tidy job sweeping the chimney too. Highly recommend Ansell Chimneys.

Ansell was booked to clean the two chimneys in our home. Neville White, who came around, was thorough, systematic, did more than what was promised. Prior to the agreed appointment, we were asked to keep the HETAS certificate ready. On the day, Neville explained everything clearly, as he cleaned the stove and the chimneys. Since our big stove was lacking a temperature gauge, he stuck one in at no cost. A test was carried out to ensure everything was in order, including the CO alarms. He cleaned up after the work, and everything was left spick and span. The certificate was issued on the spot. The stoves were lit recently, and we are very pleased to see them in perfect working order. Neville was professional, friendly, and clearly, well experienced. Will certainly book Neville to sweep out the chimneys hereon.

Great friendly service. A chimney sweep well done and some advice given about how best to light and maintain our stove. Would recommend.

Extremely disappointed with him. After waiting for nearly two months, he arrived and asked me to park on our drive way. We have two cars and there is no more room for another car. I replied that I do not have a permit to park on the road and his answer was that he doesn’t have permit either. I didn’t know that I should provide a car park for a contractor. Obviously he left without doing my job. Very very unprofessional of him.
