We ordered Steamed Prawn Dumplings, Steamed Sui Mai Dumplings, Spareribs, Chicken Bun, Steamed Sponge Cake, Yu-Choy Green with tomatoes, and Pan Fried Rolls. The Prawn Dumplings and Sui Mai were ordinary, but the spare ribs were above average. The chicken bun was not spicy enough, as it was stated to be with ginger. The Sponge Cake was truly disappointing, as it was too stiff and hard to bite through. The Yu-Choy, on the other hand, was promising. It was the best dish among all the others because the vegetables were perfectly cooked and the soup was also flavorful. The last dish, the Pan-fried Rolls, was normal, except for the pork, which its taste was too mild. The staff forgot to list a few other dishes that we ordered but offered to give us 10% off. Overall, the staff was sociable and the food was average. It also has an affordable price. I would recommend this restaurant.

Stumbled upon this restaurant during my Vancouver trip, and what a positive surprise! Coming from Toronto, this was hands-down the best dim sum I've had in Canada, in terms of selection, presentation, quality, portion, and value. There were quite a few inventive options that I've never seen at dim sum places in Toronto. The eggplant was perfectly cooked, the rabbit and pig-shaped buns were so cute and the tofu 豆腐花 came in a wooden bucket, which is very authentic. The décor was also quite nice, seems to be newly renovated and quite clean. Would highly recommend!

Brought the Fam plus Mother in Law for dinner tonight, and got their three-dish Combo (tenderloin beef with egg plant, braised fish with broccoli, and truffle infused free range chicken) that came with our choice of Duck-egg encrusted Crab (other choices included fish or lobster) that comes with fish maw soup and dessert (baked mango pudding AND red bean soup) what a tasty treat! Added a dish of garlic fried pea tips, that was big! Everything was fresh, hot, and tasty. To top it off we had the best waitress - May - who was attentive and spoke English and made helpful suggestions such as removing an item when we switched to the combo. We also had the best server Wilson, who - when mother in law liked the sweet soup and wanted to pack the extra bowl - poured it in a container and then topped it up with even more. Could not have asked for a better evening at Grand Crystal.

My friends highly recommended this place and told me not to miss their shanghai dim sum. Food quality is good especially soya milk, 油炸鬼, 腸粉 and 豆腐花 . We were out of luck that 粢飯 was being sold out. We will definitely return for dim sum and dinner.

I WISH I COULD RATE IT ZERO STARS!!!This is the most frustrating experience I have had so far.I was shocked to find out that a 12% gratuity was compulsory. I believe that tipping should be a voluntary expression of gratitude for exceptional service, and not something that is forced upon customers. I attempted to pay an 8 dollar tip for my 84 dollar meal, which I believe is a fair amount given the average quality of the food and service. However, I was met with hostility from the waitress who became angry and accused me of being STINGY and sitting there for the entire day (when I had only been there for 2 hours). The waitress spoke to me in Cantonese and made the following statement: 「有無搞錯呀!俾8蚊,10%都無呀,仲要坐成日,你哋咁小器嘅。」(In translation: Are you kidding me? Only giving $8 and no 10% tip? And you've been sitting here all day. You're so stingy")I found this behavior to be completely unacceptable and unprofessional. As a customer

I had dim sum for breakfast at this place and quality is good. Got here at 9:15 am and received 20% off for early birds.Services are excellent and very friendly servers, though had to wait for 20 minutes before my first order is out.Highly recommended if you are at Crystal Mall.

We went there for the coconut rabbits, durian handbag and green pear shaped deserts, but were informed they don't make them anymore. One of our dishes took forever, only got it after we paid for the bill. They refused to give us a box to take it with us , We had 2 bites and left the rest.

I came here on separate days for a combined rating for both dim sum and dinner. Both are rated from 1 – 5 with 5 being excellent. I highly recommend that you make reservations. Nice décor for special occasions. Service was okay. There’s free parking in the parkade below the mall.Dim Sum – with 3 people – ordered too many dishes but had plenty of leftovers. Overall rating for dim sum was 4.25/5- Bean sheet wrap w/Prawns & greens – 4/5 tasty & flavourful. My favourite!- Beef tendons with special sauce – 4/5 – tasty with a bit too much fat- Prawn dumplings steamed – 5/5 – big size and big prawns- Steamed siu Mai with fish roe dumplings – 4/5 – tasty and flavourful- Stuffed eggplant with shrimp paste – 5/5 – everyone’s favourite – they splitted an entire eggplant and stuffed it with shrimp paste. Nice sauce which was everyone’s favourite- Fried Daikon cake w/spicy XO sauce – 4/5 – tasty – daikon wasn’t too dry- Deep fried Chinese donut – 5/5 – a huge portion – crispy on the outside and warm & soft in the inside. Must order.- Goji Berry w/lichee Osmanthus gelatin – 4/5 – a refreshing dessertDinner – best value is the combo dinner menu. Choose a main course w/3 dishes. Over 40 dishes to choose from. We had the Beijing Duck 2 course menu at $168 w/complimentary swallow nest soup – 3/5- Honey Garlic spareribs – 3.5/5– flavourful w/some tough pieces of pork- Prawns & squid with seasonal greens – 3/5 prawns were a good size with slightly tough squid- Broccoli w/cod– 3.75/5Additional order of Pineapple fried rice – 5/5 – everyone’s favourite. Good luck during the weekend as it’s super busy! Very efficient in getting you a table and taking your orders when the time comes. Definitely one of the better ones when it comes to price and what you get. 10 dishes for about $180. Decent portions and typical dimsum taste. Be warned they charge $1.50 per person for tea!

Had a chance to visit the newly renovated Grand Crystal (new for me, enough though they changed owner over 6ths ago). First impression, the restaurant looks more high class. Lots of chandeliers and all seats are dressed and real table clothes, not plastic for dim sum. As for the food, the portions are huge. Other places give you 3, they give 4. The fried rice and noodle dishes are almost 1.5 portions. But big doesn’t make it good. I’m not nitpicking but for the price they charge, quality is more important than quantity. The har gow and sui mai skins were over steamed. The fung jow (chicken feet) just came off the bone by touch. The ham sui gock was hard and dry(probably air fried). The mini sticky rice wrap was good, the beef rice roll was one of the better ones I had in a long time. Staff and service was very friendly but for the price I can get better from a smaller cheaper less fancy restaurant.
