Julia is an incredible teacher! I would highly encourage anyone looking to learn piano to go to Julia’s Music Studio. She’s an extremely talented teacher who can adapt to any learning style. Julia is a fantastic music teacher. Having taught both piano and voice to our daughter and piano to our (reluctant) son, she has demonstrated remarkable patience and an amazing ability to get the most from our children. Further, Julia transitioned seamlessly and successfully to online teaching and her virtual recitals are a huge achievement. They are well-timed and showcase all of her students. Julia has truly gone above and beyond and I highly recommend her.

Julia has been involved in providing music lessons to my two daughters and to myself! Despite the challenges of the pandemic, she transitioned very calmly and optimistically to lessons on zoom and the experience has been fantastic. Julia is bright, compassionate, calm, and flexible. She has wonderful skills at engaging and connecting with students and individualizing her teaching to strengths and areas for growth. She is able to provide challenge while also making music fun and enjoyable at any age and skill level. I would recommend Julia to anyone!

Our son started piano lessons for the first time with Julia this fall. She has been wonderful to work with, and we highly recommend her as a teacher! After a long search for a piano and vocal teacher, my search is now over. Julia is an amazing teacher in all aspects of musical pedagogy. She is able to use fantastic imagery and visual examples when explaining how to get your voice to execute a certain aspect to singing. This is so important since we cannot see" our vocal instrument as opposed to a guitar fret board or piano keyboard. Patient

Just realized I'm coming close to 4 years being a vocal student with Julia after a few lessons with previous teachers, so I came in with really only piano experience and keen on learning singing.I quickly observed that Julia not only adapts to the experience level of her student, but she's also dynamic in a unique way in which she's able to approach teaching from different angles to suit her student's learning style, whether it's understanding the physical techniques or grasping the feeling and emotions of a song. Previously, when I was figuring out a new challenging skill, my teachers typically had what felt like a homogeneous plan that they're accustomed to teaching most students; however, I noticed that Julia really listens and can shape her explanations and exercises to help me figure things out at my own pace. Musicality and singing techniques are by nature super broad and varied (and each person is unique!) so as a learner I think this is a really valuable attribute to have in a teacher.She's also been happy to work with any music I bring (any language too!), which is great for me cause I'm always listening to something in the shower that I want to sing, but she always has song ideas ready that she knows can help her teach the next technique I'm trying to learn. Having a classical background, she prioritizes professional performance technique, but she knows how to work with the pop, ballads, R&B, and other genres I bring.I haven't learned piano from Julia but I'm sure she approaches her piano teaching with the same care. I've lost count of all the times I would come for lessons drop-dead exhausted from school or work and she's always patient and understanding; it's probably why she seems great with her kid students (a lot of families with kiddos come to Julia for lessons). I can go on and I've probably said more than the average learner cares to know haha, but needless to say I absolutely recommend.

Julia has been teaching my daughter piano for 2 years. Julia's transition to virtual lessons was seamless and my daughter has continued to learn and enjoy her lessons throughout the pandemic. Julia is always patient and kind. She challenges her students with exciting repertoire, musical theory exercises and opportunities for performance.

My son is 8 and receives piano lessons from Julia. She is wonderful with him. She is very patient, knowledgeable and encouraging and my son has made tremendous progress since he began lessons with her. I would recommend Julia to anyone wishing to learn how to play piano.
