Tangritah Uyghur Kabab House
I’ve been to Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in China 3 times and really enjoyed the food there. Almost 10 years later (yesterday) the food at this restaurant dawns on me the taste of authentic Uyghur food. This is the best I’ve ever tasted in Mississauga.

Delicious Uyghur cuisine served in comfortable surroundings. The beef noodle dishes are a must-try and there is a very diverse menu with options to suit all appetites. The lamb skewers are very tasty and can go as an appetizer to any meal. Definitely worth visiting if you're looking for Halal Uyghur food in the GTA!

Amazing Uyghur food. The noodles are great, thick and chewy. The skewers are delicious. I could eat that forever. Nice big chunks not like those tiny things at night markets. The soup was so homey and comforting. It's a small place but it feels cosy and intimate. Service was a little slow but that's expected with one server. Decor is simple and unique. Would definitely return. A great place for a taste of Northwest China.

The lamb stew here tastes very good, the kebabs are properly cooked, and the portion I say is pretty large. The only thing that I think needs to be considered before you choose this place is eating habits. The mutton here is relatively fatty, and the naan that goes with the meal is more soaked inside fat instead of gravy.I was hoping to order a bowl of mutton soup, but the price of $17 just a little for one people portion made me give up

This is small family-owned restaurant specializing in cuisine based on the Xinjian region, the Uyghurs. Since Uyghurs are predominantly Muslim, all the foods are halal. When it comes to Xinjian cuisine the only other place where that was available was in downtown Toronto. So it’s nice to have one nearby. In terms of food, we liked what we ate and was satisfied overall. We went out for dine in with my family and the setting was nice and cozy. I will list the items we had ordered and will try to give my honest opinion about them.1. Manta: Beef dumpling which are steamed. Each order comes with 6 pieces of the dumpling, accompanied by soy sauce-vinegar based chilli oil. Each dumplings were considerable in size and, unless shared by another person (which I did), would be enough for a person. The beef filling on the dumpling seemed slightly dry but that can be compensated if you dip it on the chilli oil. Overall a 3.5/5 dish.2. Lamb kebab: lamb kebab that is lightly spiced. Once you bite into it you can taste the cumin, which we liked. The kebab meat was however, a bit chewy, something which my wife pointed out, but wasn’t an issue for me. The meat itself wasn’t too tough to chew though. You do need to order a side (either a naan bread or rice). Each order comes with 4 skewers and each skewer would contain 5-6 bite sized meat cubes. Overall a 4/5 dish.3. Polov rice (minus the roast lamb): we intially had asked for plain rice to complement the lamb kebab we ordered, but the restaurant were out of plain rice and gave us the polov rice instead, minus the lamb roast that usually accompanies this dish. The rice itself was very flavourful but was slightly dry. Overall 3.5/5.4. Special Uyghur pasta: This is a beef udon noodles dish topped with chillies, vegetables and sesame seeds. The noodles was spicy and had good flavours. However, the noodle itself was a but chewy and seemed like it needed to be steamed/ stir-fried a bit more. However, in terms of the flavour and presentation it’s a 3/5 dish.5. Cucumber salad: This was the initial appetizer that we had ordered. the salad was dressed with the same chilli-vinegar oil that came with Manta (beef dumpling), topped with sesame seeds. A perfect dish to open you palate with. Overall a 5/5 dish. All dishes ordered cost approximately CAD 68 excluding tips. It’s worth a visit if are craving halal Xinijian food and don’t want to go through the hassle to drive up all the way to Toronto.

Me and my family had dinner here just a few days ago. I’ve always wanted to try a halal Uyghur cuisine, so when we went to Toronto from Michigan, I’d figure I’d give it a try. Probably the some of the best food I’ve had in some time. For a new cuisine experience, we loved everything we ordered. Everything so fresh, the meats and chicken perfectly seasoned.. very nice staff. I spoke with the owner and I can tell how much he truly cares about the quality and care of his customer’s experience. I will definitely be coming back here on my next visit. I highly recommend anyone that’s looking for a unique and delicious meal to try this spot. You will not be disappointed!

In short, Street Food Service with Fine Dining prices. They were clearly understaffed and one lady was trying to do everything. She was friendly and trying her best but management needs to be better.Firstly, they didn't have what we came for. Secondly, the food we did order was oily and very mediocre. Thirdly, it cost us $60 for two people which is outrageous for this quality of food. And lastly, I'm not sure if they ran out but they didn't give us glasses for drinking water. Instead, they asked us to drink water out of the bowls they provided. That was definitely strange...

Fabulous authentic Uyghur food, lovely decor, clean store and friendly staff. Had a variety of meals and all of them were fantastic. Looking forward to the next time I’ll be visiting this restaurant.Edit: we visited again recently (Oct. 2022) and the quality of the food declined way too substantially. The kebabs were dry, the naan was stale, the noodles and veggies were undercooked and thick, and the food was way too spicy. I hope they fix their game as I’d love to see the way it was before.

Excellent service! Friendly staff.Nice Uyghur theme throughout the restaurant.Great for family and friends! The owner gave me complementary Mutton soup while I was getting ready to leave. It was the best Mutton soup ever!!!!!I tried samsa and beef noodles too. Fresh ingredients! A little short on meat but delicious. I like it hot so they gave me Chilli on the side.I liked samsa but the trick is to leave the sides and dig into the middle juicy part with tender and succulent beef! That soup changed the whole dry experience at the end!I will be back, specially for that soup!Next time I will try their famous kebab and polov.
