Thank you Victoria Police for your continued hard work and dedication to the citizens of our beautiful city. Our thoughts are with those injured officers and we wish your entire team a speedy recovery.

Being a Police person isn't easy, and the majority of Police are doing the best they can. They are human, having a human experience, just like us. This world is so unpredictable, and these people show up every day, not knowing if they will make it home that night or the following day. The Police are the people we call for everything, from idiotic stuff to the most extreme situations in our lives. 911 comes second nature to us when we don't know what to do. Thank a Police person today. They may make some mistakes, but we all do.

I had an unusual experience with the VPD. I went to report a crime and was told that I needed to have a lawyer do this for me. No reason was given.I gave one star to rate my one and only experience with the VPD. I do however recognize their bravery and service to the city and that may equate to a 5 star rating.

Current Victoria police “controlled access points” in James Bay claim to be based on alleged escalations elsewhere, without any evidence of a local escalation. Without any anticipated timeline for ending enforcement of “controlled access points”, such action from a police department contravenes the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and is therefore unconstitutional. I wouldn't give it a star at all but this system requires it.

Yes, police are human too. The only difference is when they do a crime, it goes without punishment. Anyone else does a crime they get humiliated in the media and get punished, even if they end up innocent.And I promise you this is the very lightest comment I could come up with.Oh and for those of you saying they're is good cops too, well if your interpretation of letting bad cops get away with their crimes, is that really a good cop?

Did any of you see that Victoria police officer making fun of a man for not being able to read? Great representation. The officer" was despicable. And his female partner showed up and did nothing about the fact that the man was making fun of a man with a disability. I can only assume the rest of the Victoria Police department would have condemned this activity too. You know how they all stick together."

Thank you VPD and bylaw officers that addressed a mentally unstable man in Beacon Hill Park at the end of Toronto Street at 8:30 am this morning. This situation has been going on for 2 days. The man still involved is still ranting so I hope he moves on, too bad there is no place for these people. VPD you deserve a lot of credit, you always show up and protect the communitiy.

My brother was trying to find his missing friend that he suspected of being in danger of an overdose. He knew vaguely where she was but there were multiple possible locations she could be and needed help. When the police were contacted they came to take information about the physical appearance of the friend for 15 minutes of critical time and said it was unrealistic for them to search for her. Probably weren’t interested in keeping people safe in this instance since there wouldn’t be a chance for them to arrest or abuse anyone. My brother eventually found his friend safe, but it appalls me that the police did nothing at all to help the situation when someone’s life was potentially at risk, they had already been dispatched, and had a relatively small area to search.

I'm here in a semi truck with band gear for the Rifflandia festival. I've never been to the island.I called the police department to ask if there was somewhere I could park by the Royal Athletic Field overnight. First they just picked up the phone and hung up. I called back and asked, they said I don't know " and hung up on me.Great community service"
